Three bailed in Murder investigation

THREE people arrested on Saturday January 30 on suspicion of murder were released on bail the following day, pending further enquiries.

Emergency services were called shortly before 1am on Saturday morning to reports a man had been assaulted on South Road, High Green.

A 45-year-old man was found with serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead while being taken to hospital.

Two men aged 25 and 31 and a 19-year-old woman were arrested before being released on Sunday.

A post mortem examination carried out determined that the cause of death was a bleed on the brain, but further medical examination is required to understand how the death occurred.

There was a police presence in the South Road area of High Green while officers carried out their enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
