Volunteers Week celebrated

Stocksbridge Community Leisure Centre celebrated Volunteer Week (Thursday 1st June Wednesday 7th June) by inviting all their volunteers to two scheduled afternoon teas which were held at the Leisure Centre.

The afternoon teas were an ideal opportunity for the volunteers to meet up with each other, and also enjoy a delicious afternoon tea provided by Oxley's Cafe. The afternoon celebrations also included thank you speeches by the Board of Trustees and a special musical performance by David Moffatt, who kindly offered to assist with the celebrations on both dates.

Other items also took place at the Leisure Centre throughout the week, to mark volunteering week, including a Volunteer Drop In Session for new volunteers, who wished to call into the Leisure Centre and discuss the volunteering opportunities at SCLC.

Julie Martin, Asst Centre Manager - Operations commented "The Volunteer Celebrations which took place throughout the week here at SCLC, was an opportunity for the Board of Trustees, Staff and Customers, to give their heartfelt thanks to all our Volunteers for their assistance and dedication towards volunteering at SCLC, since the Leisure Centre re-opened." "It was lovely to see so many of our amazing volunteer team attend and enjoy their afternoon celebrations and we would like to thank all our dedicated volunteers for all their support, we wouldn't be where we are today without their continued assistance."
