Local Joiner Conquers Three Peaks for St Luke's Hospice

In a remarkable display of determination and compassion, Neil Rattenbury, a beloved local joiner, recently embarked on an inspiring journey to conquer the formidable Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. With unwavering dedication, Neil scaled the majestic peaks of Penyghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough, reaching an altitude of 736 meters, all in support of St Luke's Hospice.

YORKSHIRE THREE PEAKS: Neil Rattenbury, (3rd from the right) the local joiner with a heart of gold, has proven that the tallest of hills can be conquered not only with physical strength but also with a deep sense of purpose and a boundless spirit of compassion.

On a sunny Saturday, the 10th of June, Neil, from Stocksbridge embarked on his adventure, commencing his circular walk from the picturesque village of Horton in Ribblesdale. Little did he know that his selfless endeavour would touch the hearts of countless individuals along the way.

As Neil, 64, ventured through the rugged terrain, he unexpectedly crossed paths with other walkers who were also participating in the challenge to support the same noble cause. In this serendipitous encounter, strangers turned into kindred spirits, bound by a shared mission to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

Neil's decision to undertake this arduous feat was deeply rooted in his desire to honour the memory of dear friends who had relied on end-of-life care. With every step, he aimed to create a lasting tribute to their lives, ensuring their legacy would live on through his charitable actions.

Grateful for the overwhelming support he received, Neil expressed his heartfelt appreciation, saying, "A big thanks to my family, friends, customers, and Mills chip shop, who have come together to raise an incredible £681.00 for St Luke's Hospice so far." His words resonated with the warmth and sincerity that radiated from his very being, reflecting the profound gratitude he felt towards the community that had rallied behind him.
