Playzones in Sheffield
Sheffield City Council are working in partnership with the Football Foundation on the new PlayZones Programme, and they need your input!
This is an exciting new project looking at renovating old Multi-Use Games Areas [MUGAs] into PlayZones and building new PlayZones from scratch. This project aims to tackle inequalities in physical activity and provide access to high-quality community facilities in local, accessible spaces. We are looking to find out more about how people feel about this proposal and learn what needs to be included in the project to make it work for your local area.
As this is a new type of MUGA currently unseen elsewhere in the country, SCC are looking to develop a very small number of these sites in the first instance to make sure they develop, activate, and learn from them alongside the local community. SCC are really open to ideas, suggestions and feedback to help guide the project.
The first parks site SCC are looking to develop is Ecclesfield Park.
