Drew Barrymore doesn’t hold back about her body battles, revealing they’ve been somewhat of a ‘roller-coaster’. But recently she’s been feeling better than ever after shedding an amazing 9kg! The 45-year-old actress has been looking incredible in recent months, with Drew taking to Instagram recently to give her followers an update on her weight loss journey – and a dose of inspiration!

‘Don’t be fooled by what you see when people are thin right after baby,’ she shared, alongside a series of before-and-after snaps of herself. ‘Don’t compare yourself to the magazines and the red carpets. If I looked decent on anything I have done since I had my two kids, I have clawed my way there. You can too!’

Clearly, Drew’s transformation hasn’t been easy. ‘There have been times I have stood in my closet and just cried. Hated getting dressed. Didn’t feel good!’ she admitted. ‘It takes so much for me to look decent. I have to eat just right and work my ass off ! I cannot fight the fact that I have the propensity to be the Pillsbury Doughboy!’

‘This woman is my long time teacher and dear important friend,’ Drew gushed of her trainer and wellness coach Marnie Alton. ‘She has helped me. Healed me. Encouraged me to keep going when I felt like being strong was an insurmountable task… when I told her I wanted to transform my body for The Santa Clarita Diet she helped me. Every spring, when I would start training Marnie was the one who got me there. I lost [9kg] and trained like a mother.’

Along with Marnie and Drew’s dietician Kimberly Snyder – whom she calls ‘a woman I have trusted for many, many years with nutrition’ – the actress also credits Pilates with helping her transform her body.

But above all, Drew says it’s finding a balance between food and exercise that’s helped her finally feel at peace with her body. ‘NOW I have found that elusive B called BALANCE. 45! It only took 45 years to find myself. Right where I am supposed to be,’ she shared. ‘And it’s not perfect. But it’s me.’ You go, girl! aises g, WORK IT OFF! ‘I love hot yoga; I love physical therapy and Pilates to really help me with my pelvic floor,’ Drew shares of her go-to workouts. ‘And then I love to top it off with dance cardio.’
