True marvel I love a story of redemption and Robert Downey Jr’s tale is incredible ( WD , Feb 3). Hollywood actors are constantly scrutinised for every move they make, and it must be easy to get absorbed in the darker side of fame and lose their way. To have overcome drug addictions and time behind bars, all in the public eye, would be demoralising, but I love how Robert has taken control of his life, worked through his demons and turned himself around. What’s also great is how Hollywood embraced him again and the public has marvelled at his performances as Iron Man. He has clearly grown in his role as a father and it’s wonderful that this has given him the confidence to take his second chance. I look forward to seeing more of Robert on the big screen. ✦ d lli✦ M Mea d e, We llin g ton

Baby joy! Congratulations to Hayley Holt on her wonderful pregnancy news ( WD , Feb 3). So lovely to hear! She is glowing and is going to make a fantastic mum, and has lots of support from family and friends. I enjoy watching Hayley on Breakfast , she’s a breath of fresh air and very dedicated to her job. Wishing you all the best Hayley and we all look forward to your darling baby’s arrival. ✦ Stephanie, Tauranga

$100 winner Start small Sarah-Kate Lynch is not alone in suffering plastic guilt ( WD , Feb 3), but one change is better than no change at all. Here are a few sustainable summer ideas of mine: sprout seeds in eggshells or old egg cartons; buy a reusable bag to carry your wet togs in; use bamboo stakes in the garden and buy wooden pe gs; make your own ice blocks, and share the love by taking extra fruit to a food bank. Plastic is far from fantastic. ✦ Jann, Auckland

More than Friends Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston together again? Ah, yes! Like editor Sido, I feel unusually xcited at the prospect of hese two soulmates reuniting. don’t really know why I are –I don’t generally get motionally inflamed by the oings-on of A-list stars, but hese two just seem so right, n a way Brad and Angelina olie never were. Jen looks so cstatic and beautiful in her ior gown ( WD , Feb 3). Just one little quibble from me: perhaps she needs to become reacquainted with the value of a good bra. There was a nip (or two) in the air that night! ✦ Diane Auckland✦ Diane , Auckland e x th I d c a e m go th in Jo e c D
