Activate Adventures

After School Club

Activate Adventures is available for young, adventurous individuals aged between 5 (must be in year 1) and 16 years old.

The After School Club is open to anyone aged between 5 (must be in year 1) and 12 years old. We arrange walking and bus collections from selected local schools.

With LOPC being OFSTED registered and an Approved Top Centre by both the British Canoe Union and the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, you can feel confident to leave your child in our care.

From 3.30pm the children will enjoy a healthy snack before picking an adventurous activity to take part in. Activity sessions begin at 4.20pm and finish at 5.30pm. Collection is between 5.30pm and 6.00pm.

We are here to help your child have a good time by providing him/her with the opportunity to take part in different outdoor adventurous activities. Our qualified Instructors will be able to help your child develop personal and social skills and help to build their confidence in a safe and exciting environment. All LOPC staff members have an enhanced CRB disclosure.

Our Instructors are experienced at making young people feel at home and with a vast range of activities on offer each child will find plenty of activities to enjoy and excel at.

All High Ropes activities are suitable for 8 years and above with the exception of Lower Aerial Trekking and Jacob’s Ladder which are suitable for 12 years and above.

Holiday Scheme The Holiday Scheme runs during every school holiday (excluding Bank Holidays) offering multi activity days or weeks available to anyone aged between 5 (must be in year 1) and 16 years old.

Children attending the Holiday Scheme will take part in 4 different activities throughout the day (9.00am - 5.30pm). We also offer options of half day bookings (mornings or afternoons), breakfast club (8.00am - 9am) and late collections (5.30pm - 6.00pm).

Summer Holidays During the summer holidays we offer complete multi activity week programmes so your child can take part in all the activities that LOPC has to offer.

We also take single day bookings for those who cannot attend a full week.

Award Weeks Award Weeks are offered to individuals aged 12 years and above during the summer holidays.

An Award Week is an excellent chance for individuals to develop personal and social skills, gain new experiences and governing body awards. These are all a good lead into the Duke of Edinburgh Awards covering basic theory, practical and safety elements.

Annual Events Throughout the year Activate co-ordinates various events such as: 

The Award Weeks all culminate in offsite activities at the end of the week.

Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre is set on a 15 acre site next to Leicester’s River Soar, making it the perfect venue for a wide range of adventurous activities. Activities are available to individuals with varied experiences and for all ages and abilities. Our site is easily accessible and we have a hoist to enable individuals with reduced mobility to take part in water activities. The Centre is run by fully qualified Instructors who all have an enhanced CRB disclosure.

We endeavour to be as flexible as possible to ensure your visit is highly enjoyable and hope you will want to come back again and again!

How To Find Us From City Centre  Follow signs for the A6 Loughborough.  Where the A6 meets the ring road A563 take the exit onto A6030 Loughborough Road.  LOPC is the first turning on the left.

From the North  Follow A6 signposted City Centre.  Where the A6 meets the ring road A563 take the exit off the roundabout onto A6030 Loughborough Road.  LOPC is the first turning on the left.

From the West, East & South  Join the ring road A563 until it meets the junction with the A6 Leicester/Loughborough Road.  Take the exit off the roundabout onto A6030 Loughborough Road.  LOPC is the first turning on the left.

By Bus Leicester Outdoor Pursuits Centre is served by two buses, the Arriva 126 and 127. Both buses stop just 100 metres away from the Centre.
