Holiday Traditions As in many other homes, our Thanksgiving traditions center around food, family and friends. I am honored that in our family, the torch has been passed to my husband and I to host this very special meal (with help from everyone else!) We try to make sure that the food from our childhood is always on the table. Cranberry jello, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, pumpkin pie and of course, turkey are all part of the menu.
For many of us, Thanksgiving has come to mean a day of coming together as family and friends, and expressing gratitude for our blessings. Combining the beauty of fall colors with motifs of the harvest season, Thankful is a celebration of giving thanks.
Our most beloved and anticipated treat of the day is, however, eggnog! Using my grandmother’s recipe, this rich, sweet liquid is introduced to new family members when they are babies and marks the beginning of the Holidays for everyone. Arriving guests’ first words are usually, “Where’s the eggnog?”

Whether you are eggnog fans or prefer something else, Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday in which we all gather together to laugh, share and are Thankful for those we love. Happy Turkey Day to you and yours!
