Fiorante Homes and Commercial Ltd.
Celebrating their new location and being in business for 40 years, Fiorante Homes and Commercial Ltd. has long been one of the most respected names in the newhome construction business. Founded by brothers Joe and Vince Fiorante, the company’s services have expanded to include condominium construction, commercial construction and some land development. No matter the type of construction, the Fiorantes have always strived to provide the very best product and value to their clients. The brothers have set the bar extremely high for the next generation as Vince’s sons — Rob and Dean — and Joe’s daughter Christina work alongside them in the business. Also with the team is Darcy Bohay, who has been with Joe and Vince for 30 years. “It is incredible to watch my dad and uncle in action as they have so much passion for what they do and have worked very hard to achieve their dreams,” commented Christina. Clients are top priority, and one of the Fiorantes will always be involved with each client during the construction process — clients are never thought of as just another address or unit sold. The Fiorantes are proud residents of Regina and have cheered on the Roughriders, supported local businesses and lived in the communities in which they build. Christina, who has worked closely with her father to produce the HRF lottery homes, said, “We have always kept a close eye on trends happening within the industry so we can provide knowledge and current information to our clients on design and construction.” Fiorante Homes and Commercial Ltd. has been a long-standing member of the Regina and Region Home Builders’ Association (RRHBA), and Rob is the current RRHBA chairperson. Fiorante Homes and Commercial Ltd. has been the proud recipient of many awards from RRHBA, most recently Best New Custom Home under 2,100 square feet, Customer Choice Award and Best New Condominium Project (Canterbury Estates at Canterbury Park). Their newest development Canterbury Park (at the corner of College and Broad), has a number of fantastic condominium options available at Canterbury Common and Anson Square. The Fiorante family is excited to have relocated their office into such a thriving community with great businesses as neighbours. If you are in the market for a new home, condominium or commercial space, visit the Fiorantes at River View Plaza or their website at www.fiorantehomes.ca to understand why clients have continued to choose them for 40 years.
Studio S: A boutique for every woman Imagine Regina being home to a fun, relaxing women’s boutique, where shopping is an experience. Imagine sitting in a cozy lounge area with friends, sipping tea in front of a beautiful fireplace after selecting the perfect outfit for your new job. Imagine sitting on a patio overlooking a calm, glassy lake, sipping a cold, sparkling beverage with family after trying on dresses for next weekend’s event. No need to imagine anymore. Studio S Fashion House is here.
Sonja Clifton-Remple has been a part of the fashion industry since 1998. She began her a career as a costume designer in the Saskatchewan theatre and film industries. This year, she’s transitioned into the role of entrepreneur and business owner. “After the demise of [Saskatchewan’s] film industry in 2012, this opportunity presented itself, and I’m now a business owner. I created clothing stories for characters in film and theatre, and now I create personal fashion stories for individuals in real life,” said Clifton-Remple, who opened Studio S Fashion House in September 2013. Studio S focuses on women of varying ages, with collections appealing to varying lifestyles. CliftonRemple and her staff offer a personal shopping and styling experience. “Customers are telling us we have a unique fashion vibe they haven’t experienced in Regina before. The feedback has been overwhelming. “My staff [Pam Farr and Fotini Gargatzidis] and I specialize in personal styling for clients. Customers appreciate and value our knowledge,” noted CliftonRemple. “We understand what women are looking for when they shop. It is not just about ‘selling clothes,’ it’s also about offering creative and personal styling tips for clients. “ Part of this comes from having so much experience in the fashion industry. “Because of our combined years in the apparel and design industry, we have true fashion design knowledge — starting from the basics of fashion design and construction through to manufacturing, buying, merchandising and personal styling,” CliftonRemple explained. Shopping at Studio S gives customers the opportunity to find something that fits their personal style. The store offers collections from Eileen Fisher, Sarah Pacini, Rebecca Taylor, Line Knitwear, Rudsak, Obakki, and more. “[The brands found at Studio S are] are not names normally found in a mall location. They are not easily accessible,” explained Clifton-Remple. “Boutique shopping is targeted for that uniqueness. Boutique clients expect to find pieces that are interesting, different and surprising.” The brands vary in the styles and products they offer, covering everything from clothing to jewelry and accessories. Studio S definitely is “Regina’s Newest Women’s Fashion Destination.” Studio S is located at 3221 East Quance St., in Riverview Plaza. Uforia Muse providing the latest trends for women By Robyn Tocker For L-P Specialty Products Fourteen years ago, Uforia Muse opened their first store at 3024 13th Ave. The goal: give the citizens of Regina the vintage clothing they didn’t even know they wanted. Over the years, that goal has been tweaked. For a period, the store dappled in men’s wear, but they quickly reverted back to their roots and today focus on fashion for women, especially the latest trends. Carleen Rozon, one of the owners of Uforia Muse, said her store brings the fashion from big cities back from their trips to Los Angeles. In order to stay up to date on all the latest trends, Rozon said, these trips are essential.
“We wanted to create a boutique that big cities have. I believe we’ve achieved that. Customers are always commenting on how they come back from big cities and love coming here.” With the success of their first location, it seemed only natural to open a second store. The new location will be open mid-November at 3247 East Quance St. in the Riverview Plaza. Rozon said that with so many great fashions out there, having two stores makes it easier to provide these items for their customers. What makes it more interesting is both stores won’t carry the same stock. “It’s just a mixture of Uforia and Muse. We’ll have the casual clothes from Uforia and the dressier stuff from Muse, which is similar to what we carry right now.” Uforia holds brands such as Gentle Fawn, RVCA and Cheap Monday, while Muse keeps it classy with brands like MinkPink, Pink Martini and BB Dakota. Not all of the brands will be in the new store, but the vibe of their new location is young. Rozon hopes to attract customers in the 18-to-25 age range. Having new stock brought in on a daily basis helps Rozon and her team bring the latest up-to-the-minute fashion. It also doesn’t hurt that the team follows many fashion blogs, conducting research that, in the end, gives their customers exactly what they want. “It’s what keeps us moving forward. It makes us unique.” The new location in the east was chosen because a lot of customers come from that end of the city, and Rozon wants to make sure those customers aren’t discouraged by distance. “If you have two locations, you might as well make it on opposite ends of city!” Rozon compliments her staff for the hard work they do in order to make the business such a success. With her staff’s enthusiasm and commitment to the team, Rozon hopes to see the stores become even more successful. Be sure to check out Uforia Muse’s Instagram, uforiamuse and uforiamuse_east, for the latest in-store fashions.

241 Pizza — Double the taste Regina is known for having great pizza and, while customers have many choices, 241 Pizza has consistently offered pizza lovers outstanding taste and quality. Regina has been savouring 241 Pizza since 1997, when the first 241 Pizza opened at 1925 Albert St., right in the heart of Regina’s downtown. The success of that location inspired another at 5350 Rochdale Blvd. Now, with three locations and an updated online presence through its official website, 241 Pizza makes it easy to enjoy your favourite pizza. Originally founded in Toronto in 1986, 241 Pizza has grown into one of the most successful Canadian-owned take-out and delivery pizza chains. There are over 90 stores operating in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario. With 241 Pizza, you are always guaranteed delicious pizza at a great price. Whether it is lunch, dinner or a late-night snack, what makes 241 pizza the perfect choice is the two-for-one deal that allows you to mix and match your order. This guarantees everyone will get to enjoy their favourite pizza. “Quality pizza with fresh ingredients will always be our number-one priority,” said owner Fred Jenabieh. “Our two-for-one deal allows families and friends a variety of choices to enjoy their favourite pizza at a fair price.” While some pizza chains offer minimal toppings and quality, Jenabieh believes the 241 Pizza franchise has had success in Regina because he ensures each pizza is made to order and is loaded with customers’ favourite toppings. “We pride ourselves on making sure you have many different pizzas to choose from and that each of them will be full of fresh toppings,” said Jenabieh.

recently introduced a new range of olives and pestos that are brought in from South Africa,” Kaminski said. The team at OLiV pride themselves on having some of the best quality EVOOs and balsamic vinegars that the world has to offer. As Kaminski explained, the staff can be assured of this because the owners take part in its creation. “We trust this quality because we have control of our oil, its storage, transport and handling, from the branch to the table. Because of this, we do not have to try to sell inferior product to our highly discerning customers. We can instead focus on the uses for our products, and the experience the customer leaves with,” Kaminski said.
Felice anniversario! Fortuna Ristorante Italiano!
Take your taste buds on a tour
By Mike Shiplack For L-P Specialty Products It’s only been a year, but Fortuna Ristorante Italiano (3215 Quance St. E.) has already celebrated dozens of anniversaries and birthdays. Italian lovers throughout the city have fallen head over heels. “We wanted to create an authentic Italian dinning experience, which not only includes an Italian name, but an actual Italian chef,” said Pat Fiacco, one of five local partners of Fortuna. “Our executive chef, Gianni Poggio, is from Rome, Italy. He makes our pastas, sauces and desserts all in-house. We went for a pure Italian menu complete with authentic ingredients, and even the design of the restaurant is very Italian. You’ll even be greeted in Italian when you come through the doors or call to book a reservation.” Fortuna’s authenticity runs deeper than the rich, homemade tomato sauces, handmade pasta and juicy meatballs. Chef Gianni designed a kitchen that brings the flavours of Italy to Regina, and the open kitchen gives patrons a clear view to watch the master in action. “Over the last year my partners and I have changed a few things to help serve our customers better,” said Fiacco. “One example is we made our portion sizes bigger. I want people to leave full, and if they can take some home with them, then that’s even better. People also thought they had to dress up, but everyone is welcome to wear whatever is comfortable.” Fortuna’s Pranzo Potente (Power Lunch) offers mixand-match pasta with sauces and handcrafted Panini sandwiches, all for only $15. It’s served within an hour, and that includes time for dessert. Lunch is the quickest and easiest way to get a great taste of what Fortuna does best — homemade Italian food in a traditional Italian atmosphere. There are even weekly lunch specials from Monday to Saturday for only $15. Reservations are not required for lunch. What are Fiacco’s lunchtime favourites? “I always have the Pasta E Fagioli soup; it’s almost better than my Mamma’s, but don’t quote me on that. Our Bruschetta and Italian Sausage were so popular that we had to start including them on the lunch menu. And for dessert, our tiramisu is just to die for. It’s made in-house so it’s different from anything you’ve ever tasted.” Although there are plenty of ways to explore Fortuna’s menu over lunch, dinner is where the restaurant truly shines. It’s a chance to see the power and conviviality of Italian culture firsthand. Dinner reservations are preferred but never required, although the seats that overlook the small lake beside the restaurant fill up quickly. See the menu online www.fortunaregina.ca.
By Rachele Odnokon For L-P Specialty Products The OLiV Tasting Room on Quance Street is a truly unique experience. Part of a chain of stores opened throughout Canada by Awie and Isabeau du Toit, OLiV is a concept store featuring extra virgin olive oils (EVOOs) from their farm in South Africa, as well as quality brands from around the world. Unlike a typical store, customers do not simply look around by themselves while the clerk stands idly by. Rather, at OLiV, the experience is an interactive one, to ensure that customers get the product that is right for them. When a potential customer walks in, he or she is greeted instantly by the caring and dedicated staff, and is given a ‘taste tour’ of all the many different products in the store. It is this novel, hands-on approach that makes OLiV truly a one-of-a-kind place to shop. OLiV specializes in pairing their EVOOs with balsamic vinegars from Modena, Italy, both of which come in a multitude of different flavours. Customers are invited to go on a free ‘taste tour’ in which the knowledgeable staff teaches them how to taste EVOOs and what specifically to taste for, as well as providing tips on how to make healthy and exceptionally delicious meals with their products. As Donna Kaminski, manager of OLiV in Regina explained, you don’t have to be a master chef to make a masterful creation with OLiV’s selection of top quality, healthy and flavourful EVOOs. “This tour and sharing of information is OLiV’s way of giving back to our local communities. With OLiV’s quality products, you don’t have to know how to cook to produce exceptional-tasting food. The key is to flavour it on the plate and then to enjoy the very tasty and healthy alternatives to how you would have typically approached it,” Kaminski said. As Kaminski explained, OLiV strives to cater to every pallet. The product line features a variety of unique flavours, such as butter-flavoured EVOO to drizzle over your popcorn, black-truffle-flavoured EVOO for the more advanced pallet, and even a bacon-flavoured EVOO. “With several thousands of flavour combinations to choose from, every time you come into OLiV, it is like your first time. The team at OLiV are constantly renewing our product line to offer new and fresh flavours to keep it current, such as the soon-to-arrive white chocolate balsamic. OLiV will also be offering a new product line for skin care, featuring a hand cream and body lotion, among others — all made from our EVOO. We have also
