Autumn Winter 16 Autumn 16 is storming with prints. With three key catergories. Early Autumn 16 explores the pre-fall with and an aray of blues from cold beaches. From offshore to onshore, Autumn 16 is set to visit a Rustic relms trend with earthy brown and oranges, inspired by rusty rail works. Between the sea madness, fallen flowers take a new leaf of life in the falling florals trend. This trend takes a new look into floral fantasies. With romantic prints on soft talored silhouettes. Let us begin Firstly, before collections and trends are born experimentation, research and exploring are to be done. This fabric experimentation began with flower pressing into soft organic white cotton, a process which is so easily created yet so difficult to preserve. Details of delicate flowers can be mirrored on to fabrics, colours transferred and the beauty captured.

These prints have been designed for autumn winter 16 they are they have been derived from flowers that have fallen, hand picked and then pressed.

Page 36

These delicate deceased flowers have then carefully been manipulated into beautiful prints. Take a trip with us to see a glimpse of these graceful prints you can be expecting this fall.

When finding these roses, particular care has been taken, we look for the perfect flower, the perfect shades and the perfect shapes.

Page 38

... We found that roses preserved the greatest colour when comparing other fallen pressed flowers. So roses it become. These fallen roses are carefully pressed for six whole weeks. Once the roses are then ready to bloom a new life, we then experimented different layouts. Despite exploring hypnotising prints using swirls and linear lines, we kept finding ourselves being drawn to the natural layouts using roses. We became besotted in their colours over lapping so delicately.

... These prints have then been place onto soft fabrics on a casual tailored trend, a trend that has been very carefully designed. The cuts has been derived from timeless inspirations with updated elements to keep Fallen Florals present. These outfits that we have designed are to be interchangeable, to be able to wear plain stone chinos with playful pattern tops or paten chinos with a soft rose trousers. Keeping you warm and on trend all of this autumn.

Interpretation The image showing the bold contrasting lighting (Top Left) is an image found in an old Vogue magazine. The photograph itself was taken by Lee Miller in the mid 40’s, it is one that really has inspired. We find it oddly has a very 80’s feel, perhaps a photograph taken beyond its time..The image to the right is our design, using all our researching elements.

iLLUSTRATION Scratch ink drawings in pale greys to create a subtle shadow of an illustration. The girl looks longingly forwards embracing the elements.

iLLUSTRATION A girl we have carefully drawn, gazing up at the light between the blossom trees. Falling rose petals surround her, her long hair in the wind. With two sources of inspiration we feel as though the illustration we have created represent the delicateness of Falling Florals. The muted tones from drawing out the colour opacity create a calm inner feeling.
