KNACT-006 Cardio and Strength Training - 1 Unit

ADVISORY: Doctor’s clearance for vigorous cardio, strength and endurance activity LMC Degree: DA Transfer: UC; CSU Cardio and Strength training is a cross training class designed to improve cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, flexibility and strength. Students will learn dynamic stretch and warm up exercises, proper body mechanics and strength training exercises including body weight, exercise machines and free weights. Cardio training may include walking, jogging, cycling, step, circuit and interval training. Students will learn how to attain, monitor and control their target heart rate during exercise. The class will utilize state of the art training, including Keiser Pneumatic equipment found in the new Kinesiology/Athletics Complex. May not be repeated. KNACT-008A Strength and Conditioning I - 1 Unit

LMC Degree: DA Transfer: UC; CSU This course includes instruction in all elements of weight training. It will involve techniques, safety procedures, knowledge of muscle groups, equipment use, warmup, strength and endurance training, exercise progression and improved fitness. The class will utilize state of the art training equipment including Pnumatic Training through Keiser strength racks and cable machines. May not be repeated.
