1. VLORË WATERFRONT REGENERATION
We implemented of a development strategy for the waterfront of Vlorë, Albania, which can be applied to 4 other cities in the country. Our scheme proposes 3 sequences: the Natural Shore, the Downtown Harbor and the Boardwalk, revolving around the New Marina. SETTING TYPE YEAR LOCATION

Situated along the Adriatic Sea, Albania boasts an exceptional geographical situation and with it, wishes to boost its economy linked to tourism. The strategic mutation of its seaside resort is a major game changer for the tourism in the country. The Vlorë waterfront stretches along 5km of coastline. The project required a solution for the summer of 2014, when the urban development master plan for 2050 was initiated. The project focuses both on the economic issues related to tourism and on the landscape significantly tied to the history and values of the region. shade, plants and soil protection for a typical Mediterranean area. The Downtown Harbour sequence is a vast area dedicated to pedestrians, which extends towards the city centre to the new marina. This is the main entrance of Vlorë. The central building, “The Adriatic Rooftop”, gathers different recreational activities together (shops, restaurants, hotels, etc.) and acts as a symbol for the regeneration of the coast and the city. Its rooftop terrace extends and elevates the public space to offer a panoramic view of the entire bay and the city. The Promenade sequence features an elegant articulation of the city with its beach, thanks to the boardwalk running along the beach that allows an observation of the city’s topography.

Vlorë’s ambition to become an important tourist destination is possible first with the appropriation of the cultural heritage and the waterfront by the population.

The image of Glasgow has improved since it moved on its industrial past. The river’s new Landmarks have contributed to it, but their impact on the local population is still limited. We decided to design a landmark that have both an international and a local impact: the Green Mile. SETTING TYPE YEAR LOCATION

This landmark building project has been incorporated into the political framework of the Clyde Waterfront Regeneration Project in Glasgow and responds to the 3 fundamental criteria of the project: it is central, accessible and visible. The mile-long Glaswegian district of Tradeston suffered from the Bruce Report policies of the 1960s and is now isolated from the rest of the city, partly due to the construction of infrastructure around it and to a lack of urban policy in the area. Tradeston incarnates the missing link between the city centre and the Southside. The main goal of this project was to develop ways of reorganising the urban fabric of the area using non-traditional urban planning devices. A “soft” urban development strategy was employed, better suited to the temporality of the city of

Glasgow. The “Green Mile” project offers Tradeston the opportunity to secure a central position in Glasgow and assume its role as a substantial area of green urban development. The Green Mile is home to workshop zones, experimental development projects and showcase areas for renewable energy. The landmark building is used as the focus of the regeneration, designed to have both international significance and a real local impact. Thus, in its shape and in its function, the Sustainable Factory, at the top of the Green Mile, will embody a sustainable image of the city and its inhabitants.

3. VERNON : AUGMENTED LANDSCAPE A safe and soft urban transformation to make Vernon a dynamic city again. Two research axes are privileged: the reconquest of the Seine river and the revalorization of the urban engineering.

Nowadays in Vernon, there is no central masterplan for the city, although several projects undertaken by the municipality are innovative and helpful, they are disconnected to each other. Today, cities are complex, multifaceted, and in need of constant renewal. Going beyond a ÂŤfrozen urban programmingÂť, Vernon needs a clear and visionary boost to realize its exceptional potential as a vibrant city. Before undertaking a full urban renovation of the city and its buildings, Vernon needs to be prepared to be transformed, therefore the main energy of the city need to be tackled: the inhabitants. By involving all stakeholders and resources in an assertive municipal orchestration, a dedicated process is offered by this international, flexible and

delicate project scheme. The proposal has been designed to be implemented in three stages: testing the city with the population, sustaining the major changes, organising the evolution. The new vision will have a double focus and provide the city with an unforgettable experience. We have defined two axes for the development of Vernon that are foreseen to compliment and collaborate with one-another: Rejoining the Seine river and Optimise the urban engineering.

Competion phase 2 / with Studio 22° + TER Urban & landscape design 2016 Shanghai
In June 2016, the Paris-based landscape architecture studio TER (alongside Jacques Ferrier Architectures, Sensual City Studio, AND and Concepto) won the competition for the development of the right bank of the Huangpu River. The project consisted in a development of a regeneration strategy over 21 kilometres in the heart of Shanghai. The project highlights the transformation of the existing bank into a continuous public space of a metropolitan scope. It will focus on three main axes: the Discovery, the Promenade and the Sport Tracks, adapted on a case-by-case basis. A precise bill of specification has been elaborated in order to give the essential tools to the numerous developers and constructors

along the 21 kilometres of the Huangpu River. This instructions file describes the dimensions, the materials (coatings, urban furniture, constructions) and the types of vegetation required for each of the Tracks. Fort the sake of intelligibility, the Waterline has been divided into 13 different sequences about which a special attention has been given to the diversity, the homogeneity and the heterogeneity of Uses and Identities. From a local to an international impact.

Mission for EPA Plaine de France / BASE studio + Lambert Lenack Urban & architecture design 2015 Villetaneuse, Greater Paris
Villetaneuse, a disadvantaged city, part of the Saint-Denis area, Greater Paris, has foregone a deep regeneration since 2012. The city has a population of around 12,000 people and is the host of one of the main universities of Paris that hosts about 15,000 students and teachers. This project consists of the reunification of the city with its university that is still separated from it today. After elaborating a masterplan, the project focuses on three different key areas. Like other ÂŤGrand EnsemblesÂť, the districts under study were built on the principles of modern architecture,

notably those of the Athens charter. The rejection of the plot allowed a multitude of technical divisions which cut off the external spaces: roads, parking lots, rescue routes, and as many residual spaces without affectation and finally impracticable. The addition of these spaces allows to integrate a multitude of spaces destined for the public: small parks, sports or meeting places, connected by a requalified road system. This work will embody the regeneration of the city: three disadvantaged areas that the project focuses on in order to help them secure governmental financial support.

Maximise the available urban space. Creation of 5 community dwellings, workshops and shared gardens in the heart of a Victorian block in the East of London.

The rehabilitation of a chaotic garage made of cheap construction material and sheet metal, located in the heart of a residential plot. Following a rigorous range of principles, we propose to develop the building on the limits of the plots in order to create an internal courtyard where people can meet. The shape of the external envelope is based on the strict urban rules in order to optimize the free space. The resultant pitched roofs will host photovoltaic panels making the building self-sufficient. Each of the five houses owns its private front door at ground level.

Two shared gardens will be created at both ends of the building, linked by a passageway accessible by each house, in order to straighten the sense of community. On the ground floor, large areas will be dedicated to workshops connected by the inner garden.

Located in the south of Hackney, The Albion Public house on Goldsmiths Row is a three story (including basement), brick and timber building. We propose to renovate and extend the building to provide better-equipped and accessible space across all floors. The scheme extends across the first floor mirroring the shape and proportions of the existing west section of the roof and elevation providing greater and improved accommodation to the first floor to be used by the pub management. A new-hipped roof extends over the current terrace following the existing gable and continuing the roofline, this creates space on the first and ground floor with openings on the south, west and east elevations providing natural light throughout the day. This increased space on the ground floor is given to a rearranged bar that relocates its entrance to the original corner position and provides a larger, more comfortably spaced arrangement of seating. The seating continues across the ground floor into the eastern section of the plan where the kitchen is re designed to be a fish specific kitchen that functions as a takeaway serving directly to the street through an opening on the ground floor south elevation. A proposed awning covers the opening.

We worked on-site with the owners and the workers on a daily-basis.
All external materials are conceived to match or compliment the existing building. The roof will be constructed in timber and covered with tiles to match those already used. New external walls will be finished in facing brick and timber. Work in progress. On site 09/2016.

The project consisted in a reflection and an application of an original form of typology of building and apartment dedicated to the flatsharing. The project proposes a system of gradation between community and individuality. View from the street / contextualisation

Open competition organised by France 1st property developer Nexity Architecture and Interior architecture 2014 Urbanized area
The competition consisted in the design of three different apartments’ typologies (2,3 and 4 bedrooms apartments). The main goal here was to propose an innovative solution to the different issues that can be produce the fact of living within a group. The project had to take a particular interest in bringing realistic solutions from the economic and the architectural point of view. The project had to take into account the notion of reversibility (resale), with the design of the apartments, which could be inhabited by classic families.
Description of the typologies
This project brings a reflexion on the way to live between community and individuality. It brings out the gradation from the public space to the cosy sphere (bedrooms and bathrooms). The latter works independently thanks to a central furniture: the “hearth furniture”, a keystone which allows to divide an optimised living space. The different appartments fit into a regular structural frame that allows the property developper to adapt the building according to its needs.

9. GREATER SAINT-DENIS CITY-HALL The design of the new city hall of Plaine Commune, a community of 8 adjacent cities in the North of Greater Paris. The building, a new landmark at the crossroads of the Seine and the Canal de Saint-Denis, will embody this new administrative power. Model of the building

The exceptional location of the project is comparable to a micro peninsula, surrounded by the Seine and by the Saint-Denis canal. One of the main challenges of the project was to enhance the existing qualities of the site. The design of a new secondary road across the plot was the first operation of the project. This new road fulfilled several functions; it justifies the conservation of an atypical and elegant 1970’s building on-site, it unblocks the bridgehead in the direction of the Saint-Denis Island district, and allows the division of the large plot. The Canal Side of the plot is a garden, which fits into the future project as a linear forest, dilating around the canal. On the Seine side, the triangular plot is understood as a homothecy of the peninsula and contains the City Hall.

The building is constituted with two V-wings, linked together with a gallery that hangs over the Seine River. The building is built on a stand, which is a central courtyard, opened on to the river, allowing for views of the whole peninsula. The offices of the elected members are situated in the highest tower oriented towards the city. The counters and the administration area are oriented towards the garden and the canal. Those two entities are linked together by a core: a real keystone, constituted by the council chambers, ceremonial rooms, and their halls. 10. PARIS RING ROAD CITY Paris intramuros is one of the densest cities in Europe. We have reflected on the utilisation of its ring road, and imagined a space between wandering and production.

Paris intramuros, with a population density of 22,000 / km2, is one of the densest cities in Europe. Workspaces and production sites tend to be relocated outside its physical boundary: its ring road (boulevard périphérique). This ring road is a ribbon of 35km long and 40m wide. It is today, both a physical and mental limit for the city’s population, and also a witness to the concentric structure of the city. What are the stakes of its integration and the requalification of its close urban space?

Our project is to create a land that can be traveled and exploited over the ring road of Paris. It is a superstructure encompassing the boulevard and developing along a vertical axis and a horizontal one. According to the horizontal axis, the project adapts in a punctual way to the physical changes of the boulevard. Following this axis, our superstructure offers green spaces intended for the re-oxygenation of the ring road, the culture and the promenade. On the vertical axis, spaces will be developed for work, experimentation and research. We lay the foundations for an architecture of place, not doomed to be born, to be consumed and finally to die, but rather predisposed to extend in time with the people and the use that they make of it.
