THE NEW LOGO The new logo represents the rebirth of MATCHBOX. It's a mixture of various inspirations, including letter "M", a triangle, a symmetry structure, and an arrow. The letter M and the hidden arrow were the major source of inspiration and a large part of the mark. The leter singnifies MATCHBOX's name. It reflects flexible and accurate feels that perserve the soul of transformation.

LOGO COMPONENTS The MATCHBOX logo consists of a symbol and a simple wordmark that features the company's name in an inspiring and engaging way. It shows the company's new vision and keeps the soul of its past. The two components can be divided into a symbol or a wordmark and will be used for distinct purposes depending on the design situations in order to more accurately reflect the values, ambitions, and distinct characteristcs of the company.

LOGO ANATOMY Considering the proportion and symmetry, the new logo has been meticulously calculated and crafted to be well balanced logo with consistent angles and arcs. The measurement of the signature logo is determined by the x-height of the circle in the component of symbol and is proportional regardless of logo size.

CLEAR SPACE There must always be sufficient space surrounding the logo to avoid competition from other visual elements and maintain its visual impact. To create maximum impact, keep the space around the MATCHBOX logo free from other text and graphics. The clear space on each side of the mark should always be equal to the x-height of the logo.

TYPEFACE 02 [ ROBOTO SLAB ] Roboto has a dual nature. It has a mechanical skeleton and the forms are largely geometric. At the same time, the font features friendly and open curves. While some grotesks distort their letterforms to force a rigid rhythm, Roboto doesn’t compromise, allowing letters to be settled into their natural width. This makes for a more natural reading rhythm more commonly found in humanist and serif types.

ART × TECH STUDIO ART × TECH Art, design and technology are driving the force of transforming the world we live in. The Lab will support artists to experiment with emerging technology. We provide facilities and spaces at the museum to let the projects come alive. The opportunities are opened for artists of all disciplines—from visual artists to sound designer, writers, and cinematographers, and collaborate with creatives around the world.

ROBOFEST TRANSFORM × ROBOTICS The original MATCHBOX was born from designing a toy for Jack Odell’s daughter, that allowed her to bring it into school because of its tiny size. This one defining factor that later resulted in the description of the models’ scales being “1:box” We want to bring this legend forward: from adaptation to all kinds of transformation. We are going to reveal on technology and take the innovation to the area of robotics.
