April’s Astrological Weather Choices & Balance April begins with a continuation of March’s dynamic tension of endings & beginnings, new responses to old issues inside & out. On 4th the Total Lunar Eclipse (Full Moon) in Libra/ Aries calls for profound balance, bridging new ways of being true to our self yet nurturing relationship. It’s about discovering new ways of being together, even if that means agreeing to be apart. With the Sun conjunct Great Awakener Uranus in Aries, there are sure to be a few surprises. The Moon in Libra points to a way through: seeking a balanced perspective and the desire to create harmony from potential difficulty. The Sun moves on to activate the Uranus/Pluto square on 5/6 th, with Mercury close behind on 7th. This lights up the same themes we’ve been juggling since June 2012: independence/obligation & freedom/status quo. Opportunities to move on initiatives abound in the light of new consciousness. It’s truly about awakening to finer self-expression through letting go what has served its purpose in our lives. Two planets change direction during April infusing the underlying themes of our lives with different meaning. Jupiter in Leo, retrograde since December, stations direct on the 8th. Expansive Jupiter, the planet of opportunity, now opens the door to positive possibilities in Leo areas of life – creative projects, fun & play, with children, in romance & heart-full expression. The 9th is a powerful day for heart-mind alignment. Mercury’s superior conjunction with the Sun enables significant seeing of exactly who and where you are now. This direct truth opens significant creative possibilities for the future. Take the opportunities offered!

Lord of the Underworld, Pluto stations retrograde on 16th. Being the furthermost planet from our Sun, Pluto rules the slow, often arduous processes of transformation that take us deep into the impersonal truth of Life. Pluto’s retrograde process can be likened to the alchemy that takes place deep within earth over winter – a psychological dying process, where energy slowly morphs into new forms to emerge in spring.

10 Ways to A Natural Nights Sleep Of all the conditions which affect our wellbeing, sleep is probably the most important. When we are deprived of sleep a whole host of unwanted symptoms can occur. Whilst some thrive on 3 or 4 hours, others are lacklustre following 10 hours. A lack of REM sleep (a state of total relaxation) can be the culprit. Low levels of nroepinephrin and serotonin are associated with insomnia. There are many ways in which we can improve our sleep quality naturally. Here are just a few. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.

Unwind before bed. Turn off your laptop, tablet and mobile phone. Backlit E-readers and books are fine. Formulate a routine, same time to bed, same time to rise. If you are feeling deprived a short power nap may help. To regulate sleep, get adequate daylight. Lavender helps you to get to sleep, some research suggests that spikenard can help regulate sleep patterns, just two drops on a tissue by your pillow. Alternatively, take a warm bath about 30 minutes before bed, choose from lavender, Roman chamomile or ylang ylang. Make a note of anything on your mind, be it a personal problem or tasks to be done, then put them to one side. Cut down on the caffeine, specially in the evening. Deep breathing, meditation, yoga and creative visualisation can all help you to relax. Quit smoking, it can exacerbate sleep apnoea. Enjoy a cup of chamomile tea and don't eat too late!

April Oracle Card Reading from Medium Gemma Garbett The deck I will be using is the Doreen Virtue Mary Queen of Angels deck. This deck is linked to The Virgin Mary. The first card for the start of April is Love. The card shows Mary looking at the baby Jesus. Now I feel that in the first instance this card means operate from a place of love in all you do. However, when you look more deeply into the card all of the cherubs in the card are connected by tiny cords. This shows that when we act it doesn't just affect us, it affects all of those around us too. So try and be loving towards others even if they do not show you the same courtesy. The card for the middle of the month is Integrity and the words on the card are 'I trust my ability to know what is true for me.' This card is asking you to trust your instincts, especially where others are concerned. If you feel that someone is being dishonest or a situation isn't quite right, then trust. Also if you are not being honest with yourself about a situation or about how you feel then now would be the time to pay attention and think about what steps you could make to live your truth. The final card for the month is Faith. The words on the card say 'have faith in God to heal this situation.' I feel that first and foremost this card is talking about you having faith in yourself. You have the words and actions needed to heal others and to help yourself. This card is also saying that no matter what situation you find yourself in, have faith and know that it is part of your learning and you will come through it. This card is also good for those who are exploring different faiths. The end of the month is also a time to know that we cannot control the outcomes in our lives but know that we are supported in all ways. Have a wonderful April and a lovely Easter break.
