Summer Reading Challenge! Hello! Thanks so much for your interest in the 2018 Summer Reading Challenge for your child(ren)! Children who complete the challenge will be rewarded with prizes, free books, and (best of all!) a summer filled with memories of reading great books! What’s better than that? Here’s how it works: • •

Sign up between June 2 and 17. (Click here to sign up.) Read 800 minutes during challenge period: June 18 - July 27. (This comes out to 20 minutes a day, but they can read more and finish early!) Collect pledges from friends and family who will support your child’s summer reading. Turn in pledge money at the end of the challenge (no later than July 27). Select prize books no later than July 27. Shipping and taxes are included as a gift from me! Enjoy NEW Usborne & Kane Miller books as a sweet reward for completing the Summer Reading Challenge!

Frequently Asked Questions What do I need to do as the parent? Please help your child complete this challenge by encouraging him or her to color the reading log after reading each day, and by assisting in the collection of pledges in a safe manner. Does my child need to read all 800 minutes themselves? No, this challenge includes all personal reading, being read TO (I’m a big fan of family read-alouds), and audio books too! What books count? All books count… Usborne & Kane Miller books, library books, ANY books! And if you’re participating in your library’s summer reading program, you can participate in this challenge too! Double-dipping! What if we can’t get pledges? I will provide tips and sample messages to send out to assist you with getting pledges! But all children who participate in the challenge will receive a postcard during the challenge period, a certificate of completion, AND a free sticker book at the end of the challenge. How do the prizes work? Once your child completes the Summer Reading Challenge, pick out your prizes (ALL of your pledge money will go directly towards the purchase of new UBAM books), fill out the completion form here, and send me your pledge money! Shipping and taxes on your prize books will be paid for by me as a bonus gift.
