FLYER

The FLYER is meant for all kinds of snowboarding and riders of all ability levels. Whether you cruise park and piste with your buddies or take on big mountain riding and fearsome backcountry kickers, the FLYER can tackle it all. Built around the VERYLIGHT CORE: A poplar wood core, which is enhanced with Paulowina wood. This makes the core super light but it remains strong enough to beat all of our break tests. We gave the core a mid flex and used core profiling to produce a flex pattern that is slightly softer outside the bindings than between them. The core is wrapped in BI-AX laminate layers. These are aligned along the board’s length and between its edges above and below the core. They create an easy and forgiving flex that permits you to directly feel the snow under your feet. BI-AX laminate layers do not increase torsional stiffness so the FLYER has a mid flex along its length, whilst remaining torsionally soft. This allows it to be super responsive, charge at high speeds and give very stable landings, all without sacrificing its forgiving nature. We also added some extra layups: V-shaped carbon stringers on the nose and tail connect their centres to the heel and toe edges under the bindings. These further increase torsional stiffness outside of the bindings as well as storing extra elastic energy and focusing it right on the very back centre of the board when ollieing. The further back the pivot point of the ollie, the more elastic energy can be loaded into the tail and the higher the resulting pop! We also included cork

stringers that run the full length of the board, between the inserts and the edges. These dampen vibrations and help to distribute power along the edge evenly. This is especially useful at high speeds and during icy traverses when cork reduces edge chatter and twitchiness. The result is a board with a mid flex, both torsionally and along its length that is as solid and stable as a much stiffer board. FREESTYLE TBT is the most versatile of the TBT profiles. The centre base (non TBT) section features a traditional camber profile and has a medium width to balance edge-to-edge agility with flat base stability. The side base TBT uplift begins outside the bindings to give a longer contact length between your feet (without TBT). This improves stability when sliding on a flat base. FREESTYLE TBT is symmetrical about the nose and tail for equal performance when riding switch as forwards so it represents a ‘good for everything’ shape: Fast and forgiving edge-to-edge looseness as well as great overall stability. The FLYER features a true twin contact shape, FREESTYLE TBT and a centred stance. This makes it feel generally just like a twin. However, the nose of a FLYER is 1 cm longer than its tail, with the 1cm being added to the tip region that never touches the snow. The extra length includes transitioned TBT, which lifts the tip even further, making the extra length feel a whole lot longer and improving float. So when you find yourself crashing through a trashed powder field, a bombed out landing or cruddy spring snow, a FLYER won’t let you down.

The FLYER features LIGHTNING EDGES, which are our lighter and thinner edges and give your carves more feeling and precision. The inserts are centred and have a PARTY PATTERN: 24 holes give the largest range of possible stance widths and ultimate control over the exact binding positions. We also included BACKSEAT INSERTS so you can drop your bindings all the way back on those bottomless days. This puts weight automatically over your back foot, reducing back leg burn and increasing float. Finally, the FLYER has a sintered base for maximum hardness and higher top speeds. The graphics are classic and simple. A matte and gloss black topsheet and a black base with transparent sections that allow you to see the core. The FLYER is intended for all round riders who always aim for powder when it is available, but who are happy to ride the rest of the hill when it is not. One board for riding everything: From park and groomers to backcountry kickers and open faces.

NORTH

The NORTH is a freeride cruiser that can step it up to handle even the gnarliest terrain. It also has an all new very special feature: The ‘split’ option! The NORTH is constructed around the VERYLIGHT CORE: A poplar wood core that is enhanced with Paulowina wood to make it super light but allow it to remain tough as hell. It stood up to every single one of our break tests. We gave the core a soft-mid flex and used core profiling to produce a flex pattern that is slightly softer outside the bindings than between them. The core is wrapped in TRI-AX laminate layers. Two layers are aligned at 45 degrees to the edges, while the third runs the length of the board from tip to tail. The addition of the third axis increases torsional stiffness and responsiveness as well as further enhancing high-speed stability. We also added some extra layups. Two straight carbon stringers run the full length of the contact edges, joining the board’s widest points. These add nothing to a NORTH’s torsional stiffness but increase stiffness along the length to an overall mid flex. When combined with the TRI-AX laminates, the result is a board that has a mid flex both along its length and torsionally. The NORTH remains lighter than a normal board of the same spec because we can use a thinner core without sacrificing strength thanks to the carbon reinforcements. In addition, the carbon strips store up extra elastic energy, which delivers big pop and they contribute to an even power delivery along the full contact edge. We also added two cork stringers that run the full length of the board between the inserts and the edges. These dampen vibrations along the edges, especially useful at high speeds and during traverses, when the edges of a NORTH are far less likely to twitch or chatter.

Finally, the NORTH includes a 2 cm wide strip of bamboo down the very centre of the board. Bamboo is very strong, flexible, has good return and is a renewable material. The bamboo contributes towards making the NORTH super poppy, but it has another use! You can split your NORTH for touring! There’s nothing new in splitting a board, but when you split the bamboo strip in the centre of the board, the near perfect alignment of bamboo fibers along the length of the board ensures that the newly revealed sidewalls remain impervious to water without needing further treatment! This means you can split your board as soon as you get it or ride it as normal for sometime and then split it! This offers the best of both worlds for anyone interested in trying a split board without wanting to take the hit on a ready prepared one or wanting to D.I.Y. it! The FREERIDE TBT used on the NORTH has a narrow centre base (non TBT) section, giving it a high total upturn at its widest points. The result is even better float in powder as well as more agile carving. FREERIDE TBT is also directionally optimized, with the length of the TBT sections offset by the same amount as the stance. The nose side base sections also feature larger angles to further enhance the TBT by creating super floating powder wings! The centre flat section is set back in line with the stance and the tail TBT is shorter and shallower. The total width of the tail is also a couple of millimeters narrower than the nose. This produces a ‘gas pedal’ effect, where the board powers through and accelerates out of turns! While this is hardly noticeable for general riding (the NORTH is still excellent for riding switch), it becomes very noticeable when cranking a turn in powder, as the ‘gas pedal’ ensures a larger powder cloud that makes you look like a freeride superstar!

The NORTH features a 2 cm setback stance as standard that accommodates the longer nose TBT section, a precise insert pattern with 20 inserts for a good range and maximum precision on binding placement, together with optional backseat inserts so you can put your bindings all the way back on those bottomless days. This puts most weight automatically over your back foot, reducing back leg burn and increasing float. The NORTH is directional in both contact and outline shapes and optimized for backcountry riding. The construction is completed by LIGHTNING EDGES; our lighter and thinner edges that enable you to carve with more feeling and better precision. We also included a sintered base, to give the highest possible top speeds. The design remains a simple combination of matte and gloss black on the top sheet, but now splitting the board in half lengthways along the bamboo strip. The base graphic is likewise split in half along the boards length with one half being black and the other being a sweet full colour, photo real image, featuring artwork by Taka Sudo. Very eye catching! The NORTH is great for all types of riding: Just fine for cruising with friends, but take one to the backcountry and this board will really come into its own when things get deeper, steeper and more full on!

SHAKA

The SHAKA is intended to be a fun to ride powder board that gives an amazing ride in any backcountry terrain, from the tightest trees to the steepest face and makes backcountry riding less effort and more enjoyable. It also has a super special feature to make it twice the board! The SHAKA is constructed around the VERYLIGHT CORE: A poplar wood core enhanced with Paulowina wood strips. These make it super light but allow it to remain strong enough to beat all of our break tests. We gave the core a mid flex and used core profiling to produce a flex pattern that is slightly softer outside the bindings than between them. The core is wrapped in TRI-AX laminate layers. Two layers are aligned at 45 degrees to the edges, while the third runs the length of the board from tip to tail. The addition of the third axis increases torsional stiffness and responsiveness as well as further enhancing high-speed stability. When combined with its unique shape, this construction is just perfect for shredding in any powdery conditions! The SHAKA employs POW TBT. This is TBT maxed out for full on powder surfing! The narrowest centre base (non TBT) section gives the widest TBT powder wings. Add in extreme side base angles on the nose section and the total TBT uplift is huge, making the nose practically impossible to submarine! The nose and tail side base TBTs are set back in line with the stance, making the nose side base longer and the tail side base shorter. The tail features a sweet cut back shape that gives maximum rooster tails! The stubby tail and a set back stance move the centre flat section to backwards, putting more weight over your back foot. Because of the shorter side base length on the tail, its TBT is shorter, but we also made the uplift angle shallower. The total width of a SHAKA’s tail is a couple of millimeters narrower than its nose. These design features all work together to

produce a ‘gas pedal’ effect: The SHAKA powers through and accelerates out of turns, throwing up a shitload of snow! We also added some extra layups. Two V-shapes of carbon strips connect the toe and heel edges at the nose and tail with the centre of the board under the bindings. On the tail this magnifies the ‘gas pedal’ effect as well as storing extra elastic energy to enhance pop and reinforcing the tail in general. At the front they distribute any forces more evenly across the nose and stop it from becoming twitchy at high speeds. We also included two cork stringers that run the full length of the board between the inserts and the edges. These dampen vibrations along the edges, which is especially useful at high speeds and during icy traverses. Finally, the SHAKA includes a 2 cm wide strip of bamboo down the very centre of the board. Bamboo is very strong, flexible, has good return and is a renewable material. The bamboo makes the SHAKA more poppy than a ‘methed out’ panda, but it has another use! You can now split your board! There’s nothing new in splitting a board, but when you split the bamboo strip in the centre of a SHAKA, the near perfect alignment of the bamboo fibers along the length of the board ensures that the newly revealed sidewalls remain impervious to water without needing further treatment! This makes splitting your board easier than ever and means you can do it as soon as you get it or ride it normally for sometime and split it later! This offers the best of both worlds for anyone interested in trying a split board without wanting to take the hit on a ready prepared one or wanting to D.I.Y. it!

A 2 cm setback stance and crazy TBT shape and angles allow you to ride the SHAKA much shorter and softer than you would ride any other powder board. The ‘spoon’ nose floats like a much longer and stiffer board through even the deepest powder, making it great for riding big mountain lines. The short, cut back tail can turn tightly like a much shorter board, which is great through tight trees. These effects work together to ensure that every turn will put the most snow possible into the air to leave you feeling like the man! Powder riding will be even more fun! The construction is completed with LIGHTNING EDGES; our lighter and thinner edges that allow you to carve with more feeling and precision, together with an extruded base for easy repairs. The inserts have a PARTY PATTERN of 24 holes, giving the most stance options possible: Maximum precision of placement over the widest possible range of stance widths. We also added optional backseat inserts so you can put your bindings all the way back on those bottomless days. This puts most of your weight automatically over your back foot, reducing back leg burn and further increasing float. The graphics are minimal, featuring a burst of colour and a transparent section on the top sheet and a black base. The SHAKA lets you ride bottomless powder all day with minimal back leg burn and turns on a sixpence during tree runs. It floats so well that you will be able to cover more of the flat on the ride out than any of your friends, leaving less distance to wade! Enjoy your best ever powder day on a SHAKA.
