Registration All camp registrations will be processed ONLINE. Please register at www.goramblers.org/sportscamp. No mail-in or walk-up registrations will be accepted.

Loyola Academy Sports Camp Information Discounts (available until June 1): A 25% sibling discount will be given for the second and any subsequent siblings registering for the same sport with the same coach. Discounts will be applied once the registrations are reviewed by the sports camp office. There will be no daily or weekly pro-rated discounts unless otherwise specified in the camp description. Cancellations/Refunds: A $25 fee will be applied to all cancellations. No refunds will be issued once the camp starts. Exceptions may be made for serious illness or injury. Questions? All specific camp questions (i.e. weather, absences) should be directed to the individual camp Coach or Instructor. All coach information is listed with the camp information. DESCRIPTION: Camp dates and times may change, please contact Coach Tres for more information. This camp is open to current team members, as well as any athlete from 6th grade through high school interested in improving their skills. Special attention will be directed toward refining and developing the skills necessary to compete and succeed in bowling at the high school level. Classroom on lane instruction will be used along with video to provide each athlete a unique and individualized learning experience. Coach Tres was named by Bowlers Journal International as one of the Top 100 coaches in the United States in 2006 to 2014. Also, Coach Tres is a USBC Silver certified coach and has Dick Ritger level 1, 2 and 3 certifications. Coach Tres was named Athletico Physical Therapy’s 8th Annual Coach of the Year in December 2020. DESCRIPTION: Time to get up, dance and perform in this brand NEW camp! This two week dance camp will focus on technique, flexibility and performing in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary/lyrical and musical theater. Dancers will learn dances in these styles throughout the weeks, and learn dances in each of these styles. On the last day of camp there will be a performance in the Loyola Theater for families and friends to watch their dancer perform the dances they have learned throughout camp. *No camp on July 4, make-up date on Tuesday, July 5. DESCRIPTION: This camp is for beginners through very experienced athletes. Comparable skilled athletes will be grouped together. All camp sessions will focus on the aspects of strength and conditioning for their age group. Including proper warm ups, speed mechanics, agility, strength training, stretching and nutritional guidance. This camp will prepare athletes for their upcoming athletic season, as well as the understanding for how Rambler athletes train for their high school seasons. Each athlete will be coached on how to become faster and agile on the field and will be taught proper strength training techniques in the weight room. Camp will consist of 45 minutes of speed/agility and 45 minutes of strength training. Minimum of three athletes required and a maximum of 20 athletes per week will be allowed. This camp is a 5 day per week camp with three days dedicated to speed/agility and strength training and two days of specific conditioning. Every collegiate sport requires their athletes to pass specific training tests when coming to campus. This camp will completely prepare the athletes to excel at those training tests and more. Athletes will be provided guidance on their specific summer training programs or will be provided one. DESCRIPTION: This camp will focus on all aspects of pitching. The camp will go over proper pitching mechanics, secondary pitch development, as well as how to hold runs on base, time to home plate, situational pitching, and how to take care of your arm before and after pitching. Pitchers will also go over proper use of bands for arm health and maintenance. Learning these techniques now will allow your ballplayer to stay healthy throughout the season and set them up for success in the future. DESCRIPTION: This camp is intended for incoming baseball athletes to compete against other incoming athletes in scrimmage games. This is a great opportunity for incoming baseball players to showcase their abilities against other incoming players. The games will be formatted so everyone gets substantial opportunities to perform in front of the head level coaches. A controlled format will allow athletes to be put in many situations during the duration of the scrimmages. This camp will be high energy with a competitive environment. Exposure to future teammates will be beneficial for our athletes to start developing relationships with future teammates. Note: Camp will be run by Loyola staff, as well as current and former players from the Loyola program. Athletes should wear baseball pants with a belt and a hat. DESCRIPTION: The first hour of camp will be position specific training. The second hour will be hitting focused.    

Infielders will refine basic and learn advanced level footwork skills and learn a comprehensive understanding of positional responsibilities. Outfielders will prioritize communication and effective outfield movements to allow them to take good routes to the ball and work on making smart decisions. Catchers will focus on receiving pitches and proper positional footwork and positional positioning behind home plate. Hitting will be an introduction and refinement of Loyola’s hitting approach.

Note: Loyola baseball staff will be present for camp to maintain continuity with athletes. Please wear baseball pants, a Loyola shirt and a hat. Infielders will work on footwork, glove placement, hand speed and agility related defensive development techniques. Outfielders will work on tracking the baseball, taking efficient routes to the baseball, as well as communication and defensive rotation. Catchers will develop receiving techniques, blocking and throwing footwork to increase their ability to through base runners out. Hitting will continue to development their offensive approach, suing Loyola specific offensive drills that allow them to refine their hitting mechanics, bat speed and power.

Preparation for the fall season will be stressed. The emphasis is on training in every important area of distance running and racing. Topics include types of training (aerobic, anaerobic threshold, interval and speed training), racing tactics, strength training, warm up and warm down, stretching, peaking, running technique and running injuries. Please bring a water bottle. Camp will be held rain or shine. We will work out a reduced fee for those who can attend only a limited number of weeks. **No camp on July 4, make-up day will be on July 8. DESCRIPTION: The emphasis of this camp is on non-contact instruction for the grade school level athlete. Every aspect of football is covered, including: stance, footwork, speed, ball handling, passing, route running, receiving, blocking, defending the pass, lineman hand combat, and tackling. Players can choose specific positions or rotate. Varsity coaches, John Holecek, Mike Kotowski, along with varsity football players will instruct campers in football technique. Two days a week Head Strength Coach, Jeff Lindeman will instruct campers in agility/speed training for 45 minutes. Fridays will be make up days if there is a cancellation due to inclement weather. No pads needed, but please bring gym shoes for the possibility of indoor training. Cleats are optimal for turf training, but not a necessity. *One week option is available for $150. Wilmette Campus

DESCRIPTION: The emphasis of this camp will be on the development of the incoming football player. This camp includes all conditioning and football instruction for the entire summer. No other football or conditioning camp needed. All pads will be provided. Campers should wear compression shorts/shorts and t-shirt. Cleats optimal, but gym shoes needed for indoor work. The first week will be helmets only. Helmets and shoulder pads will be worn for the rest of the football practices (weather permitting). All prospective QBs should arrive 15 minutes early for extra training on football practice days. This is not a mandatory camp, but all freshmen who would like to play football should attend as much as possible for proper instruction and development. Head Freshman Coach Tony Belmont will email all changes or other instructions before the start of summer camp. Fall camp (non-voluntary) starts Monday, August 8. DESCRIPTION: The camp is designed for all skills levels, beginner to advanced, and will provide instruction from members of the Loyola Academy coaching staff with very light contact where all facets of dodging and shooting will be taught for all skill levels. Advanced players will definitely learn and be challenged. Defensive positioning, checks, footwork and learning to play around the crease will be covered. Dodges covered will include split, inside roll, question mark, rocker, speed and more. Shots covered will include overhand, underhand, twisters, ¾ arm, bouncers, risers, low-high, high-low, fakes and more. Fun and challenging drills will enable massive repetitions and mastery.
