Dear Friends of Loyola Academy, Welcome to our 51st annual Ramble! For more than half a century, the Ramble has stoked a fire of generosity and philanthropy that has helped make our community what it is today—steadfast in its mission and rooted in a great tradition yet ever-evolving to meet the needs of its students.

WE’RE PROUD TO SUPPORT

LOYOLA ACADEMY

The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented moment in our global community and has presented us with an opportunity to reimagine Ramble with this year’s virtual format. With your support and with the graces of technology, we are delighted to bring you an expansive remote gathering that encompasses alumni, family and friends of Loyola from across the country and around the globe. This is the first event of its kind in the history of Loyola Academy. Thank you for making history with us tonight as we stand united in our support of Jesuit education! It is our stark reality that all families in our school community have been affected by the current crisis, some with a great degree of severity. And so now more than ever we feel a particular urgency in our efforts as we anticipate a greater need for tuition assistance in the weeks and months to come. Your support of the Ramble’s Guardian Angel Tuition Assistance Program will help Loyola maintain a vibrant and diverse student body which is absolutely central to the mission of Loyola Academy. Many years from now, when we look back at all the wonderful Ramble celebrations we’ve shared over the years, I know that Reimagined Ramble 2020: A Night to Unite will stand out. While past Rambles have charmed us with their exquisite decorations, delicious cuisine and wonderful ambiance, Ramble 2020 will be remembered as a powerful return to the meaning behind it all: making the gift of a Jesuit education accessible to all qualified students. May this singular focus unite us tonight as never before. The Ramble is an extraordinary effort. I am grateful for the legion of volunteers who have kept the Ramble afloat despite a host of challenges this year. My sincerest thanks to Chaircouple Jill and Fred O’Connor ’80 for their support and enthusiasm along the way. Thank you to the special events staff for handling the many complexities of transitioning this event to an entirely online format. They poured over every detail to make this night come together in such a special way. The show must go on! And, finally, to our guests: whether this is your first Ramble or one of many over the years, I welcome you warmly. On behalf of the students who will benefit from your generosity, thank you all for your spirited participation. It is needed today as never before—A Night to Unite indeed!

Being Chicago’s Bank® means doing our part to give back to the local charities and organizations that unite and strengthen our community. We’re particularly proud to support Loyola Academy and its dedication to inspiring students to be men and women for others. Enjoy Ramble 2020: A Night to Unite!

The Gift of

JE S U I T E D U CAT I O N AT LOYOLA ACADEM Y

For the past 51 years, the Ramble has been the single largest contributor to Loyola Academy’s Tuition Assistance Program. In the past five years, the Ramble has generated $6.5 million thanks to the generosity of donors who believe in the transformative power of a Jesuit education. In this unprecedented time, we anticipate the need for tuition assistance will rise in the coming school year.
