January Notes Paula McGrath‐Diouf ’87 is currently teaching in London and even has a fellow Loyola alum in her class! She has also recently published a book called The State of Grace: A Mother’s Plea for Life Balance. Nick Waggoner ’04 has directed a film called “Afterglow – Lightsuit Segment.” You can watch it here ‐ http://vimeo.com/108679294. On Sunday, November 2, 2014, many members of the Loyola community ran in the New York City Marathon. Andy Donacik, Kristin Ross, Joe Tiernan ‘94, Mary Kate Burke ‘01, Dan Miller P’16, Chris Beha ‘97, and Monica McEnrue ‘03 joined the almost 50,000 runners in the bitter wind and cold to complete the marathon. Jamie Schombs, Loyola’s Librarian, ran the Baltimore marathon in October 2014. Kristina Chan ’00 left for Jamaica on November 15, 2014, to volunteer at an orphanage and help to build houses. This is a dream come true for Kristina and is something she has wanted to do for a long time. Andrew Leone ’13, who is in the middle of his second year playing basketball for Fairfield University’s Stags, played against Duke at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Maggie Hom ’14, Duke ‘18 was in the stands watching her fellow alum!

Daniel Reardon ’64 will be performing in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, Ireland. The play runs from February 11 – March 28, 2015. John Catsimatidis ’11 was on Hannity on Fox News on January 14, 2015, giving his opinion on President Obama’s new education plan. Ron Morgan ’51 has created a website that is a compilation of his life’s work in science. You can check it out here ‐ http://internationalsciencecenter.com/. Weddings Jean‐Marie Ciaffone ’00 married Steven John Messina at St. Ignatius on June 28. Fr. Sehler was the officiant. Francis Vecchione ’01 married Meghan Quinlan on October 18, 2014. Gerry Herrling ’73 married Carole Porter on December 27, 2014. Engagements Tom Brennan ’01 is engaged to Amanda Nicastro Bianca Doran ‘09 is engaged to Vince Pantillone.
