December Service Day will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2010 Loyola alumni, students, and faculty will gather together to create food baskets for the Welcome Table and Food Pantry of St. Francis Xavier Church located on West 15 th Street. Kick-off for collection of canned food items will be at Alumni Night on Wednesday, November 24, 2010. Service day will begin with Mass at 11:00am celebrated by Fr. Katsouros in the Loyola School Chapel. Further details to follow. Save the Date!

Edward Knapp joins Loyola as the new Vice President for Finance. Ed earned a BA in history from SUNY Potsdam and an MBA from Union College. Born and raised just outside of Albany, New York, Ed relocated to New York City after completing his graduate studies. He is a certified public accountant with over 18 years of experience working with or for other not-for-profit/higher education organizations. Kelly McGee joined Loyola in July as the new Advancement Associate. Kelly, very familiar with Jesuit teachings, attended St. Ignatius College Preparatory high school in San Francisco, California. She attended New York University and studied communications and art history. After graduation, Kelly moved to San Diego, California where she spent time with veterans at the Veterans Medical Center. Realizing that she missed New York, Kelly returned to work in an art gallery and for the U.S. census until finding her place at Loyola. Kelly is delighted to be embraced by the Jesuit community once again and excited to work with the wonderful people at Loyola. Gabriel Rotman joins Loyola as the new Associate Director in the Admissions office. Gabe was born and raised just outside Boston, Massachusetts, and earned his BA in history from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Prior to Loyola, he was a dorm parent, head baseball coach, and Assistant Director of Admissions at the St. Thomas More School in Oakdale, Connecticut. For the past two years he has traveled frequently throughout the United States and Southeast Asia recruiting students for St. Thomas More. Gabe is very excited to be at Loyola, and looks forward to working with Admissions colleagues, Lillian Diaz Imbelli and Nick Feeley.

1964 Daniel Reardon played the part of Polonius in a production of Hamlet as part of the Dublin Theatre Festival in early October. 1986 Michele Crespo-Fierro was recently featured in a NY1 news segment, “Nursing Mentors Aim to Bridge Field’s Diversity Gap,” for her work at New York University’s College of Dentistry, where she is a registered nurse and clinical instructor. Michele encourages her students to seek higher masters and doctoral degrees, and take on bigger roles in healthcare and among academics. Katsouros on August 7, 2010 at the Church of Saint Ignatius Loyola. 2000 Natalie Czastkiewicz is engaged to be married to Nicholas Gaudiosi. A wedding is planned for October 22, 2010. 2006 Ryan Schira was recently featured in Issue 5 of Masquerade Magazine. The article discusses his band, Safe to Say, and his modeling experience.

1989 Deirdre Lesnik married Michael Vetere on September 17, 2010. 1999 Caryn Seebach married Travis Turner on September 18, 2010 at the Church of Saint Paul the Apostle. Fr. Katsouros was a concelebrant. Christina Coster was maid of honor and Jadzia Switniewska Duffy, Emily Ryan Escott, Mike Escott ’95, Mary Ann Lynch Minson and Patrick Minson were in attendance.
