1943 Gene Cavallero Jr., father of Gene Cavallero III ’69, passed away at the age of 92 in Phoenix, Arizona. Earlier in his life, Gene ran the Colony Restaurant, which occupied a lofty perch in NYC's dining scene, becoming a destination for boldface names like Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Frank Sinatra. Fred was presented a Doctor of Music degree at the school’s Commencement ceremony, joining more than 600 Elmhurst graduates. The award was given for Cindy’s great appreciation and in recognition of her loyalty and passion for Holy Cross and her commitment to the football program and its student-athletes. Also for her mentoring and concern for their education, maturity, well-being and success in life. 1981 Christina Maurillo is now Investment Advisor Representative and Special Care Planner at Barnum Financial Group. 1990 Jeff Alpi is now Web Services Lead at Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 1993 Thomas Galvin is Candidate for one of 5 seats for Maricopa County on the Board of Directors for the Central Arizona Project (the Central Arizona Water Conversation District). She just accepted a job at UMASS, starting August 2016. 2002 Iris Groen is now Senior Executive Recruitment Manager at Forte'-Talent Acquisition, LLC. 2003 After completing his MBA and Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering at the University of Florida, Ryan Kelley moved to NYC to take a position as an Associate Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs. 2004 Diana Sorbera and her fiancĂŠ, James Wortman, became engaged on August 27, 2016. 2008 Will Healy was mentioned in an article in the New York Times. Faculty Notes
Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, James Comey, visited Loyola on April 13, 2016 and addressed the student body and faculty. It was a terrific learning experience from a major figurehead in the US federal law enforcement community.
