Comprised of some of Northeast Ohio’s best and brightest young musicians, the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra performs with an enthusiasm and interest that rivals their teachers. Youth Orchestra performances are open to all ages — a perfect opportunity to introduce children to an orchestra concert. Prelude Concert at 6 p.m. featuring Youth Orchestra members performing chamber music. The Cleveland Orchestra Neighborhood Residency is a new program that immerses the Orchestra in local communities with an intense schedule of performances and activities. The first of the annual residencies takes place in Gordon Square. The centerpieces of the residency are a free Cleveland Orchestra concert at St. Colman Church and free concerts performed by Orchestra musicians in neighborhood venues and in local schools. A variety of convenient nearby parking options are available for most concerts at Severance Hall, including the CWRU Campus Center Garage adjacent to the hall. (Prepaid parking passes for this garage can be purchased, on a space-available basis, through the Ticket Office or online at clevelandorchestra.com. Please note that parking for Friday Morning Matinees is extremely limited; a shuttle bus service runs from Cedar Hill Baptist Church (12601 Cedar Road, just east of the Cedar/Fairmount intersection) for $10 per car. Free bus transportation to and from Severance Hall for Friday Matinee concerts is available at four Cleveland-area locations, supported by the Woman’s Committee of The Cleveland Orchestra.
