Hoops Classic Returns to La Porte

More than 17,000 fans packed in Bulldog Centre to see the world-famous Harlem Wizards take on the LP Hoop Dogs on Thursday, Feb. 23.

The fun-filled evening consisted of contests, comedy, awesome slam dunks, audience participation, and merchandise giveaways.

19th Annual Foundation Golf Tournament Raises

$25,518 effort, the LP Hoop Dogs were outscored by the Harlem Wizards.

The 19th Annual La Porte Education Foundation Golf Tournament held on Wednesday, March 22, raised more than $25,000. The money will be used to fund innovative, creative instructional projects that benefit the students and teachers of La Porte ISD for the upcoming 2023-24 school year.

The Presenting Sponsor for this year’s tournament was the City of La Porte.

A total of 128 players from 32 teams took part in the tournament held at the Bay Forest Golf Course. Winners for the first flight were Newline Interactive –Americas, Channel Shipyard, and La Porte Tire Center. Winners for the second flight were INEOS Olefins & Polymers USA, Foremark Performance Chemicals, and The Bill & Helen Crowder Foundation.

Rudy’s “Country Store” and Bar-B-Q® was the Dinner Tournament Sponsor. PepsiCo was the Beverage Tournament Sponsor. Coastal Ice & Water was the Ice & Water Tournament Sponsor.

The event could not have taken place without the support of the LP Hoop Dogs and the event sponsors.
