MARY WOLLSTONCRAFT Long before Simon de Beauvoir’s Second Sex, Mary’s Wollostoncraft’s A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, was published (1792). Mary Wollstoncraft was a proto-feminist and her work was one of the earliest ones on feminist philosophy. In it women there is a argument for women’s education. Women, she claimed, should be seen as companions, rather that wives to their husbands, as they are the ones responsible for children’s education. It is quite sad that in some parts of the world women still have to fight for their rights to be educated like Malala Yousafzai had to do in 2012. THE CONCLUSION
We think that women should play a more important role in this society since we should have the same rights as men. We should value them for the work we do and not for the sex we are.
