LREI Reimagined Leading Progressive Education Since 1921
Building for Action Be inspired
LREI challenges the innovator in each child to question, to experiment, to rethink what the future holds. Our goal, as it has been for over 90 years, is to inspire children to dream big and take risks — to develop resilience on the path to success. It’s no wonder LREI graduates are changing the landscapes of their chosen professions. They enter the adult world confident in the value of their dreams.
In recent years, we have reimagined our campus through the Building for Action Campaign. Classrooms in both buildings have been transformed into 21st century learning spaces, outfitted with innovative tools and technology, with attention to environmental sustainability. In the spring of 2010, we opened a new wing in the Charlton Street building — complete with a student center, music suite, college guidance office and seminar rooms — allowing us to accommodate a record high school enrollment. As we look toward our centennial, we turn to our next endeavors: the Charlton Street Arts Pavilion and the Science & Math Center — modern, state-of-the-art spaces to support our progressive program. We invite you to learn more about what’s in store and to dream with us. Your support will help spark another 90 years of unparalleled innovation.
Science & Math Center Three floors of new science, math and humanities classrooms, located over an enlarged and remodeled Performing Arts Center
We hope the school will be a place where ideas can grow, where heresy will be looked upon as possible truth, and where prejudice will dwindle from lack of room to grow.

COMING SOON Charlton Street Science & Math Center Now that the Charlton Street Arts Pavilion is a reality, what’s next? Additional biology and physics laboratories, as well as more classrooms and bathrooms. The Charlton Street Science & Math Center is currently under construction on two floors above the Performing Arts Center. The top floor will house two state-of-the-art labs, a biology terrace and additional classroom space for general use. The lower level will include math classrooms, offices and bathrooms. The Science & Math Center will be outfitted with the latest equipment and technology, though its design will suit a variety of courses and allow for future flexibility, in keeping with our ever-evolving program. While all of this construction is going on upstairs, we also will be expanding the Performing Arts Center downstairs. We will extend the back wall for a brand new stage, and upgrade our light and sound equipment.
