May 11, 2011 Dear LREI Community, One of my greatest joys is to witness, time and again, the LREI community coming together for a cause. Each day I am inspired and energized by the support and caring among students, teachers, parents, alumni and friends. Tonight’s celebration is yet another example of this community’s ability to generously and enthusiastically support our mission, as important now as it was when the school was founded 90 years ago. Of course, this evening could not happen without the gifts, talents and countless hours of energy and efforts of so many people. More than 60 volunteers, under the leadership of Emma Fine and Jessica Meli, have worked tirelessly to ensure that this year’s Big Auction is an evening filled with fun and excitement celebrating the best of our families and community. I can attest to the enormity of their efforts, and I thank them for bringing our community together for this glorious evening. I would like to extend a special thank you to all the volunteers and those who have underwritten the event, donated auction items and participated in this wonderful evening. This event is a critical part of our annual fundraising campaign and helps us to support our teachers, programs and diverse community. I feel so fortunate to be part of such a remarkable school and to celebrate with you. Tonight I hope you will experience the deep joy of the LREI community and share with me the tremendous gratitude for all that each person has given to make tonight a success. With many thanks for supporting LREI as we look forward to our next 90 years.

May 11, 2011 Dear LREI Community, On behalf of the entire Big Auction committee, welcome to LREI’s Big Auction 2011! This evening we celebrate as we come together for the biggest community-wide event of the year. We delight in the countless contributions and efforts of the LREI family and those individuals who work tirelessly to make LREI such a special place. Over the past several months, we have worked together to create this magical evening. We have been awed by the generosity of the community in making tonight possible. To the generous underwriters and donors, we extend our heartfelt thanks. We are also tremendously grateful for the always-enthusiastic support of LREI’s Director, Phil Kassen and the constant encouragement from members of the faculty and staff. And, to the members of the 2011 Big Auction committee, we are deeply indebted for helping us Raise the Roof! Without your dedication and efforts, this evening would not have been possible. We’re excited to present you with the 2011 Big Auction catalog, which features hundreds of fabulous donated items. We hope you have a wonderful time bidding and celebrating. Now, let’s Raise the Roof!

Neither LREI nor the auctioneer assumes any risk, liability or responsibility for the authenticity of the authorship of any property offered at the auction (that is, the identity of the creator or the period, culture, source of origin, as the case may be, with which the creation of any property is identified. ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD “AS IS” AND THE CHARITY MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WITH RESPECT TO THE PROPERTY, AND IN NO EVENT SHALL BE REPONSIBLE FOR THE CORRECTNESS OF ANY CATALOGUE OR NOTICES OR DESCRIPTIONS OF PROPERTY, NOR BE DEEMED TO HAVE MADE ANY REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTY OF PHYSICAL CONDITION, SIZE, QUALITY, RARITY, IMPORTANCE, GENUINESS, ATTRIBUTION, AUTHENTICITY, PROVENANCE OR HISTORICAL RELEVANCE OF THE PROPERTY. Prospective bidders should inspect the property before bidding (where possible) to determine its condition, size and quality. 2. All sales are final. There are no exchanges or refunds. All signed bids are binding. At the call of the auctioneer’s final bid during the live auction, the highest bidder shall be deemed to have purchased the offered lot subject to all of the conditions set forth herein and thereupon (a) assumes the risk and responsibility thereof (including, without limitation to, damage to frames or glass covering the prints), (b) will sign a confirmation of purchase thereof and (c) will pay the full purchase price therefore or such as LREI may require. All property shall be removed from LREI premises by the purchaser at her/his expense no later than three days following the sale and, if not so removed, will be sent by LREI at the expense of the purchaser and such added charges will then be added to the purchase price of the object. If the foregoing conditions and other applicable conditions are not complied with, in addition to other remedies available to LREI by law, including, without limitation, the right to hold the purchaser liable for the bid price, LREI at their option, may either (a) cancel the sale, or (b) resell the property on three days notice to the purchaser and for the account and risk of the purchaser, either publicly or privately, and in such event the purchaser shall be liable for payment of any deficiency, all other charges due hereunder and incidental damages. 6.
