FEATURED ARTICLE BY NEVA KHAN The 21st Century is filled with people who have different needs, dreams and objectives in life. In this sense, there is a group of people who dedicate their lives to helping -service workers. For definition's sake, community service refers to work done by a group of people to benefit others, it is often carried out by people, and the most significant beneficiary is the community . The people who undertake community service require no payment although sometimes volunteers receive different kinds of gifts. Community service is a

Community service has several significant benefits to service workers. When an individual engages in community service, they gain psychological, social and cognitive benefits.

HOTO FEATURED ARTICLE BY SYDNEY LEWIS From my first initial emergence into Key Club to now, almost three years later, Key Club has always been a place of inclusivity, growth, and new relationships. Although personally, to me this organization means a door of endless opportunities. Opportunities for personal development, interactions within the community, and ways to bring about change. Specifically, Key Club has allowed me to connect with more people, alter my view of what’s important in life, and put myself out there to help others. Throughout the years I have met a number of new people and gained new friends through club meetings and volunteering with them. They make volunteering even more enjoyable and we’re able to create new memories during those times. Alongside meeting new people this organization has shown me the importance of giving back to the community and the effects it has on other people. To know a simple act can go a long way and make someone’s day is one of the best feelings I’ve experienced which is why I’ve tried to spend more time volunteering given the multiple chances Key Club provides to do so.
10
In addition, my connections within the community have increased due to my participation in this club. It has branched from helping our school, to our local town, to our city and even other bordering cities. I have even been given the opportunity to help orphans across the country in Europe which is something I don’t think I ever thought I would do if not for Key Club. From celebrating local veterans to packing food and clothes for shelters I’ve been able to be a part of the community and help it grow in different ways. Lastly, on top of my personal growth and connections to the community, Key Club has brought an immense amount of change. Starting with a change in people’s lives, we have packed or given out hundreds of clothes, shoes, toiletry and other goods for those in need. As a club we’ve written cards for those in the hospital and elders in nursing homes during quarantine to make them feel special, and we’ve donated toys so that kids are able to have toys under the tree on Christmas Day. Our organization has also helped clean parks and other parts of town to make sure our city stays as clean as possible. This all comes to show how much change Key Club has brought not only my life, but to others as well which is what a good club does. All in all, Key Club is quite literally the key to unlocking hundreds of opportunities. From personal growth, to helping those around you and changing people’s lives Key Club has been the place to make it possible.
