Hello Key Clubbers,
My name is Nhi Nguyen, your new Key Club Editor! We finally made it through this year. Congratulation to you all! I'm so proud of you guys for your service and your volunteering involvement with our club, regardless of the Covid 19 pandemic difficulties.
It is summertime now! I just want to give you guys a reminder to volunteer during the summer if you can! I totally understand that you have a lot of other activities and work to do, but whenever you are free, it is a perfect choice to go volunteer and interact with people! I believe that it would be really fun. Also, don't forget to take pictures and share them with us. I'm so excited to work with you guys more next year so hopefully, there will be more in-person opportunities for us.
I hope you all have a great summer!
Yours in service,
Nhi Nguyen 6

Another volunteer opportunity I took thanks to Key Club was Paw Paw’s Dog House. I helped a woman named Mandy with the senior dogs she took care of. At some point, she had fourteen senior dogs in her house with her. They had health problems and wouldn’t be adopted if left to shelters. Some of them required expensive surgeries that no one else would try to pay for.

KEY CLUB’S POSITIVE IMPACT ON MY LIFE By Elizabeth Mingle
Sophomore year. This was the point in high school that Key Club began to alter my life. At first sight, this organization was not appealing to me. However, Key Club’s mission of wanting to provide its members opportunities that require service was what drew me in. I can sincerely say that joining this club has had a positive impact on my life for it has enhanced my leadership skills, given me the ability to provide service to my community, and progressed my interactions with other members. Key Club has positively affected my life by strengthening my leadership skills. Since my membership in this club, I have held positions such as social coordinator and secretary. I have to connect with other officers, voicing my ideas, and working together to complete multiple tasks. My roles have allowed me to grow as a leader because I was previously reserved and had poor communication skills.
10
I admire the camaraderie between officers, for it permits a more cohesive and functioning group. This specific organization has additionally benefited my life by giving me a way to participate in my community. Key Club has offered me a variety of ways to commit acts of service whether it be in person or virtually. Allies in Youth Development, an in-person option, is a recurring opportunity that Key Club has for its members. Volunteers package necessities into boxes which will later be shipped to less fortunate individuals in places like Europe.
In addition, this society has volunteer opportunities that do not require face-to-face interactions, especially since COVID-19 is still present. For example, Free Rice allows users to donate rice to families in need by playing an online multiple-choice quiz game. All in all, without this society I would not have ever discovered different ways to get involved in my community or learn the value of committing acts of service.
Membership in this club has given some the capability to form interactions with others. Working together to achieve a goal has connected people on a different level. It has eased my interactions with people outside the club and continues to do so today.
In summary, Key Club has positively altered my life by heightening my leadership skills, giving me volunteer opportunities, and allowing me to form friendships. The effects of Key Club continue to shape my character today. I truly hope that anyone who joins won’t regret their experience!
