Welcome back to The Talon of T-O! I hope the first semester of the school year has been going well! I am finally figuring out the balance between Key Club, band, and classwork as well as wrapping up college applications! The officers are working to plan socials and service projects for the spring semester. In the meantime, try to make some time to sign-up for the volunteer events we have been sending information out about and follow our Instagram @lrhs.keyclub and join our remind @lrhskc22 to always be up-to-date with what's going on in our club (:

Remember to try your best to manage your time, stay hydrated, get plenty of sleep, continue to nourish your body as well as enjoy each moment of this school year; it'll be you know it. With that being said, h and enjoy this month's edition of The Talon of T-O!

Yours in Service and Friendship,

"Excelling in high level math throughout high school, I have always been one of the few other girls in the class in the high-level math classes Realizing this, I wanted other girls to see and learn early that YES, math & science is for them too. I wanted to provide a safe space for girls to explore and work with math without the stigma that it's for boys The GEMS mission is to ensure that a girl sees herself as a change agent or a problem-solver, and to encourage girls to pursue education and careers in all STEM fields."

Kayla has been in Key Club for the past 2 years Her favorite part of Key Club is meeting other likeminded, service-oriented students and getting the opportunity to serve the community She is very active within our club and has also been working on a club called G E M S which stands for Girls Excelling in Math and Science. It's based on getting elementary school girls interested in pursuing the STEM field.
