About the Proposal
The project aims to return the natural character that featured the landscape of Milano during the beginning of the 19th century by recuperating the “Navigli” and the experiences associated to it: The greenery, The social encounter and the Navigation
The proposal can be understood as a system composed by 3 elements: A water corridor, Piazzas and Bridges. The former one is complemented by the idea of “Alzaia” the traditional service path reinvented as a boulevard along the water. Piazzas will act as stations for the boats and will represent the “genius loci” of each interest point. Lastly, bridges will mend the city again.
As examples, 3 gravity points are presented: Cas-
sina de Pomm, San Marco and Via Melchiorre GIoia. The last one as the main project.
Via Melchiorre presents itself as an unique urban configuration in the city, the extended avenue with no intersecting streets presents the opportunity to connect the two parks with a naviglio of strong character.
A green and blue core for the city. The existing Parks are connected by the “Galleria dei Navigli”: a Bridge-Piazza. The Bridge is posed over a perpendicular volume that host the Navigli station and allows the activation of the smaller park.
The Gallery is perceived as another piece in the methapysical composition of elements arranged in the area. Roads are disposed underneath the canal.

Galleria dei Navigli: Piazza
The interior of the bridge is a large open space,a democratic area enclosed by two monumental reinforced concrete trusses that overlook the new naviglio.
The use of arches and vaults beams evokes social and traditional values and at the same time the atemporality of the intervention, an sculpture to celebrate the tradition of the navigli.

About the Proposal
Proposal for the YAC Poveglia Contest for a master plan for the island of Poveglia.
The proposal considers a University Campus composed by 3 Faculties according to the history and tradition of Venice and Poveglia: Architecture + Trade + Agriculture.
The Island is reorganized as follows:
North Island: designed as a Public Park + Students Ac-
comodations, taking as starting point the current existing forest there and the recuperation of the historical agricultural traces, from the middle of XX Century; The Main Island is proposed as a the “University Citadel”, a place for Faculties and equipment, designed following the historical complex where the old hospital took place. Finally the defense Octagon is projected as a Memorial to the history of Poveglia.
New Programs are located at the age of the island, creating a newfacade facing the lagoon, the gesture allows panoramic lookouts over the entire area.

About the Proposal
The proposal is based on a replicable cross volume Bridge-Beam located over the bottom of the ravine. Through this, a fast circulation is generated at the street level, which allows the connection of both sides.
The path becomes the main articulator of the projects, unifying everything that is happening either inside or outside the volume.
The volume is divided into 2 areas, the former is the main area in which a multicourt is centered located, and the second one is two contained boxes located at the edges, complementing with programs of services
and social encounters.
The public space is designed considering squares and a green corridor.
The squares are located at both sides of the bridge acting as a transition space into the volume.
A green corridor for the community is provided at the bottom of the ravine, an opportunity for having native species and a water drain system. It unifies the bottom sides of the hill and allow strategic points for water collection in cases of emergency.

Polimi Pavilion
Team: A. Escobar + A. Zavala + F. Paderno + M. Lahoud + M. Salas
Location: Mantova, Italy.
Year: 2022
Type of Project: Academic, Public Building
[Professor: Eduardo Souto de Moura + Barbara Bogoni]
About the Proposal
The Pavilion is conceived as an elongated volume of glass, “a plinth” mirroring the facade of Palazzo d’ Arco, The volume is surmounted by two opaque masses. The composition generates a new Piazza, surrounded by 4 buildings: INA House, Palazzo D’ Arco, Polimi and the new Pavilion.
The first one, consolidates the corner of the Piazza and via Domenico Fernelli and host the Polifunctional room, the second one, host the workshops on a se-
cond level.
The main access to the project is aligned with the axis entrance of the Palazzo d’ Arco. Programs are articulated from central foyer, from here is possible to access the two areas of the pavilion: Exhibition room and Cafeteria. The back part of the Pavilion is solved through a system of “vicolos” and “cortiles” following the system of the city.
