Dahua's innova�ve ePoE technology offers a plug-and-play solu�on to transmit power and data over long distances via Ethernet or coaxial cables, reducing installa�on �me and saving money. ePoE technology is a viable, cost-effec�ve solu�on for extending transmission distances and for conver�ng exis�ng, coax-based analog systems into IP systems. For video security and surveillance installers, ePoE technology saves �me and money by reducing overall cabling requirements, allowing for exis�ng coax cable to be used, and minimizing the number of peripheral devices needed. ROSSML New Mortice Lock To Suit SALTO Escutcheons The new Australian designed and engineered KJ Ross Mortice Lock is here to cure your headaches associated with installing SALTO escutcheons on narrow stile doors. This lock features a design utilising an 8mm through spindle which allows it to be used with the standard 40mm narrow stile range as well as the double reader security Escutcheon which has always been an issue to match with a conventional narrow mortice lock. The 8mm spindle also enables the internal handle monitoring feature to be used on an Escutcheon not currently possible with the ANZ split spindle variety.

wHO’S READING YOUR EMAILS? SCAM ALERT Most people are familiar with the “Nigerian 419” scam, where someone says you’ve inherited $5 million dollars, and all you have to do to get it is send them $1000 as a “processing fee”. Of course, once you send the $1000 ‘processing fee’, you’ll never hear from them again. New scams are more sophisticated, more targeted, and may appear quite legitimate. Always look out for things that look too good to be true, and be very careful when sending money based on instructions received by email. Scammers can access your PC via a myriad of ways. General tips are to have a strong password and to keep your anti-virus and operating system up-to-date. A weak password on a Google account could easily be guessed. Once cracked it lets the scammer see all of your email, contacts, and would give a thief a fair insight into your business.

New scams involve sending what appear to be legitimate looking invoices, or requests for payments, with bogus bank account details. Sometimes the scammer will make it look like someone you know (like a regular supplier) has changed their banking details. For the record, LSC’s bank account details are: BSB: 083-004 Account: 519120439 We’d always notify you well in advance if we’re changing our bank details, and your account manager could also verify that. Our industry prides itself on securing the properties of our customers – don’t risk your own IT security with a weak password.

Get in before it’s too late! Instant asset write off for purchases under $20k ends on 30 June 2018 Australian small businesses (annual turnover less than $10 million) can claim an immediate 100% deduction on every asset they purchase valued up to $20,000 (previously $1,000). The $20,000 limit will end on the 30 June 2018. The $20,000 threshold applies to each individual asset and small businesses will be able to apply the $20,000 rule to unlimited individual assets. New legislation was passed in March 2013 by the NSW Government to prevent children falling from windows.
