We Create Opportunities for Business Success through...

Networking, Advocacy, and Business & Professional Development

MESSAGE FROM THE 2010 CHAIR... During 2010, the Chamber took an active interest and involvement in a wide-range of civic and business issues, and continued to refine and enhance its programs and activities. Increased membership value was stressed again, given the continued challenging economic climate. During the past year, the Chamber added a new networking event Got A Minute?, a new discount office supply program with Office Depot and continued to provide our members special rates with the Humana Health Care insurance program. Your Chamber has also continued to be the voice of the business community. A

series of candidates forums for City Council and Mayoral Candidates, the Jackson County Executive and Legislature, the Missouri District 8 Senate Candidates Forum and the Missouri House of Representatives Candidates Forum were conducted. The Chamber played a key role in assisting the City of Lee’s Summit and the Friends of Lee’s Summit in support and passage of the $37.4 No Tax Increase Bond Issue for Major Infrastructure Projects. Many other programs and events, such as Oktoberfest, Community Health Fair and the annual legislative trip to Jefferson City represent the hallmark character of the Chamber. These efforts were resoundingly supported by the membership and staff, and acknowledgements of these undertakings did not go unnoticed in our community. With 198 new members, it is clear that Lee’s Summit remains a vibrant community that continues to represent Business in Motion. I am honored to have served as the 2010

Chair of the Board, and thank you for your continued support of our Chamber’s mission. This past year has been a great one for the Lee’s Summit Chamber and I have no doubt that the same is in store for 2011. I look forward to remaining involved in the Chamber’s efforts moving forward.
