Message from t he 2011 Chair of t he Board
It’s hard to believe that 2011 has already come and gone. What a truly great year it was at the Lee’s Summit Chamber. Together our Chamber accomplished many things to continue to set our business in motion. On January 1, 2011, the Chamber launched its redesigned website lschamber. com. The fresh, new, vibrant look allows for easy navigation and high visibility of Chamber members. Additional features of the site include a Chamber Events Calendar, Community Calendar of Events, membership information, 2011 health care directory, press room, general information about Lee’s Summit and much more. I invite all members, when looking for a product or service, to visit our website and select a Chamber member. In May the Chamber launched the Lee’s Summit Chamber App. Our smartphone app is available as a free download for all iPhone and Android users. This app is not only useful for our members,
but the community as a whole. For example, if you are looking for some weekend fun, just click the app and you can view a complete list of Lee’s Summit community events. Of course the Chamber continued to provide the services that our members have come to expect. Some examples include our educational programming, networking events, legislative representation/ lobbying, annual trip to Jefferson City and much more. This is just a quick look at what the Chamber has accomplished in the past year. Turn to page 6 to view more. I am honored to have served as the 2011 Chair of the Board, and thank you for your continued support of our Chamber’s mission and programs. I look forward to remaining involved in the Chamber’s efforts moving forward.

Hall of Fame Inductee The inductee for 2011 is the Bank of Lee’s Summit. As one of the oldest businesses in Lee’s Summit, they are a great addition to the Hall of Fame. Since new ownership in 2000, Bank of Lee’s Summit joined the Chamber and has been a strong Chamber advocate. Several of their staff have participated in various committees since that time. They have been extremely active in the Education Committee. Bank staff has served on the task force to interview and help select the Teacher of the Year as well
as the recipients of the high school senior scholarships that the Chamber awards each year. They have been very gracious in sponsoring the breakfast for the Chamber’s annual train trip to Jefferson City. Several of their staff have graduated from the Chamber’s Leadership Lee’s Summit program and one has served as LLS Coordinator for the past two years. They have been a Chamber Silver Partner since the inception of the program, providing sponsorship for many of our events.
The Chamber appreciates the strong partnership between our two organizations and are pleased to include them in the Hall of Fame.
