5-7 p.m. | Wednesday, December 4 The Historic Longview Mansion The spirit of the season is in the air and the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce and Lee’s Summit Economic Development Council are excited to host their annual Holiday Reception. This event is a great opportunity for the staff, board and members of both organizations to give back to the community. Members are invited to gather at the Historic Longview Mansion for food, refreshments and prizes that are all geared toward giving back. Guests are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to donate to Lee’s Summit Social Services. Lee’s Summit Social Services benefits low-income families and the elderly by supplying basic needs such as food, utilities, rent assistance, clothing, medical items and school supplies for children. Your contribution of a nonperishable food item will help those in need this holiday season. A fifty-fifty raffle will also be held and one half of the proceeds will be donated to Coldwater of Lee’s Summit. Coldwater also provides basic needs for low-income individuals and hosts many successful programs such as a senior mobile pantry, a hot meal program and an all-encompassing effort to ensure no child goes hungry. The other half of the fifty-fifty funds will be awarded to a lucky winner in attendance. Tickets to enter the raffle will be $5 a piece, five for $20 or an “arm span” for $100. Tickets will be sold at check-in and by satellite volunteers around the venue. As in years past, the boys of Langsford House will help with coat check and cleanup. Their help is essential to the success of this event and both organizations are always thankful for their contribution. The Holiday Reception is exclusive to members of the Chamber and Economic Development Council. Reservations for the event can be made at lschamber.com
Get Ready to Rouge Your Knees for the Chamber’s Annual Gala: A Speakeasy Soiree on January 25 Planning for the Lee’s Summit Chamber’s Annual Gala is underway, and we’re excited for an elegant, fun-filled evening with nearly 500 Chamber members and guests. This year’s Gala is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at The Pavilion at John Knox Village. Guests are invited to join us as we travel back to the Roaring ‘20s for a Speakeasy Soiree complete with live entertainment, networking, gourmet dining stations and a one-of-a-kind speakeasy experience. The evening is highlighted by our live and silent auctions. The Chamber’s Annual Gala Task Force would like to request your consideration in donating an item, gift certificate or unique experience to this year’s event. Donating to the auction is an incredible opportunity to showcase your business and market to members of the Lee’s Summit business community, while helping the Chamber continue providing low-cost programming and community resources. In exchange for your generosity, you will receive recognition within our auction program and at the auction tables during the event. Not sure what to donate? We also have a wish list available online for ideas. Visit LSchamber.com/gala2020 for more information. Sponsorships are also a great way to promote your business at the event. See a list of available sponsorship levels in the column to the right. For more information about securing a sponsorship, contact Megan Gray at mgray@lschamber.com or call 816.524.2424.
