Catalyst Captures Gold Philly Award You can describe the Chamber’s quarterly business magazine, Catalyst, in many ways: innovative, business-centric, creative, informative. And now, you can add one more qualifier: award-winning. The quarterly Catalyst magazine was presented with a Gold Philly Award at the Nonprofit Connect 2017 Philly Awards banquet on November 15 at Boulevard Brewing Company. This annual Nonprofit Connect event had fifteen categories to showcase the marketing and communication efforts of over 80 nonprofit businesses in the Kansas City area.

Stephanie Kusek Director of Communications

This is the first-ever Philly for the almost three-year-old Catalyst – a magazine that has featured dozens of Lee’s Summit-area businesses, profiled many CEOs and business owners and offers cutting-edge photography and creativity while delivering a consistent and powerful message of doing business in Lee’s Summit. The Gold award, designating the highest scoring entry, was given to Catalyst in the “Print/Electronic Magazine” category for nonprofits under $3 million in income. “We are honored to have been recognized among so many great nonprofits’ marketing efforts,” said Heather Thompson, advertising manager for the Chamber. “The Chamber truly enjoys being a business facilitator in Lee’s Summit, and the quarterly magazine showcases our ever-growing and diverse business community.”

Catalyst is produced quarterly by the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce. It is planned, collaborated and executed by the Chamber’s creative team, including Stephanie Kusek, director of communications, Heather Thompson, advertising account manager and Sami Dupuis, creative coordinator.

Meet Sami Dupuis, the Chamber’s Creative Coordinator Sami Dupuis joined the Chamber in September 2017 as creative coordinator. She is responsible for designing Chamber publications, working on Lee’s Summit’s tourism efforts to promote the city to visitors and helps with various Chamber events. Sami previously worked for a small greeting card company, Curly Girl Design, as graphic designer and online retail marketer. Sami holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Central Missouri. Outside of work, Sami enjoys spending time with her family and friends, rooting for the Chiefs and Royals and working on various art, calligraphy and design projects.
