2011 Res In Motus Business of the Year Award Winners Announced at May Luncheon

Four local businesses were recipients of the Lee’s Summit Chamber Res in Motus (Business in Motion) Business of the Year Award at the monthly membership luncheon on May 20. The four award winners include: Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street, Inc. (non profit); Steppin’ Out–The Studio (five or less employees); Marian’s Kids (6-15 employees); and Lakewood Counseling Service TMC (over 15 employees). Sanctimonia (non-profit) – Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown Lee’s Summit. Main Street program through the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Main Street Center. Vegrandis (five or less employees) – Steppin’ Out–The Studio plays a vital role in the training and development of the performing arts in children throughout the metropolitan area. Owned and directed by Phyllis A. Balagna, life-long resident of Lee’s Summit, Steppin’ Out is in its 22nd year of providing instruction in dance, vocal, cheerleading, and tumbling. Parvus (6-15 employees) – Marian’s Kids offers 24-hour a day, 7-days a week child care services that accommodate parents with non-traditional work schedules. The educational opportunities they seek to provide at Marian’s Kids are compatible with the value system of the Lee’s Summit
