7:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 Missouri Innovation Campus Join us for Breakfast for Champions and celebrate entrepreneurship at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Missouri Innovation Campus, 1101 NW Innovation Pkwy. We’ll hear from Megan Day of Burnt Finger BBQ and updates from Jon Cundiff of Velocity Lee’s Summit. World Champion pitmasters, Megan and Jason Day are ambassadors to the art, culture and sport of live-fire barbecue. Known as Burnt Finger BBQ, the couple created the world’s first viral barbecue recipe, the world-famous Bacon Explosion™. Megan was the darling of Food Network’s “Chopped Grillmasters’ Season 4, winning the title of ‘Chopped’ Champion. In February of 2019, Southern Living Magazine named her “One of the Most Influential Woman in Southern Barbecue” and filmed several online videos to accompany the article. Megan and her husband Jason have cooked live on The ‘TODAY show’ and filmed a feature segment on Food Network’s ‘The Kitchen’. Today, they crisscross the country competing, making personal appearances, dreaming up new recipes, selling their delicious products, entertaining, evangelizing barbecue and inspiring families to get outside to cook and eat together. Register online at LSchamber.com; cost is $15 per person. Contact Matt Baird at mbaird@lschamber.com or 816.524.2424 for details.

Save the Date for the Annual Gala Roaring 20’s Speakeasy Soiree on January 25

The Chamber is running a Fall Membership Drive during the month of November! Any new member that joins will receive all of the benefits of Chamber membership, in addition to the following perks:

Planning for the Lee’s Summit Chamber’s Annual Gala is underway, and we’re excited for an elegant, fun-filled evening with nearly 500 Chamber members and guests. This year’s Gala is set for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at The Pavilion at John Knox Village. Guests are invited to join us as we travel back to the Roaring 20’s for a Speakeasy Soiree complete with live entertainment, networking and gourmet dining stations. The evening is highlighted by our live and silent auctions. The Chamber’s Annual Gala Task Force would like to request your consideration in donating an item, gift certificate or unique experience to this year’s event. Donating to the auction is an incredible opportunity to showcase your business and market to members of the Lee’s Summit business community, while helping the Chamber continue providing low-cost programming and community resources. In exchange for your generosity, you will receive recognition within our auction program and at the auction tables during the event. Not sure what to donate? We also have a wish list available online for ideas. Visit LSchamber.com/gala2020 for more information. Sponsorships also are a great way to promote your business at the event. For more information about securing a sponsorship, contact Megan Gray at mgray@lschamber.com or call 816.524.2424. Keep an eye on your mailbox for formal event invitations after the first of the year to reserve seats.
