Opening General Session Patrick La Pine, LSCU President & CEO, will present the results of LSCU’s member survey and give an overview of the LSCU’s priorities and initiatives for 2011. Patrick will also discuss details of the cooperative image campaign that will be launched in both states in 2011. Herb Yolles, Region III Director for NCUA, will provide an update on the state of the credit union industry, specifically on Region III, as well as corporate stabilization assessments. Herb will also discuss regulatory/compliance changes that are on the horizon and the focus of examiners in 2011.
Afternoon General Session Kenneth W. Gronbach, President, KGC Direct, LLC, is a gifted public speaker and a nationally recognized expert in the field of demography and generational marketing. Ken makes the science of shifting demography come alive with real life examples that make it relevant to today’s culture, business climate, and economy. Author of The Age Curve, How to Profit from the Coming Demographic Storm, Ken will take you through a fascinating, common sense understanding of shifting demography and the related opportunities and challenges.
Closing General Session Richard Hadden, is a Certified Speaking Professional with a focus on creating a great place to work. Leadership Council Workshops The Leadership Councils provide localized networking and educational opportunities for credit union professionals. The Councils meet several times a year in locations across the state and provide members with the opportunity to network with their peers, discuss issues concerning their professions, share best practices, and hear from industry experts. Exhibit Hall The Exhibit Hall will feature 48 vendors that offer products and services to assist in optimizing your credit union’s operations. Governmental Affairs Luncheon CUNA Senior Vice President of Political Affairs Richard Gose joins the conference to share what credit unions can and should do to create the most positive political and legislative environment.
Offsite Events
The conference golf tournament will feature a SCRAMBLE format with a shotgun start at the property’s Lakewood Golf Club. The club has hosted President Gerald Ford, Dr. Billy Graham, and Bob Hope, to name a few, and has been named several times as Golf Magazine’s Best Golf Resorts in America. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. with a continental breakfast. Lunch will conclude the tournament with an awards ceremony. Proceeds will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.

Sunrise Sailboat Tour Guests and attendees alike will want to experience the early morning sunrise over the bay as they sail out on a 1.5 hour cruise complete with a continental breakfast. Joshua is a classic 72’ wooden schooner sailing on Mobile Bay, Alabama under the command of Captain Carol Bramblett. Joshua is Coast Guard licensed to carry as many as 49 passengers.
Historic Fairhope Tour & Luncheon Guests have the opportunity to spend a “Day Along the Bay.” A beautiful Deep South setting on Mobile Bay is the locale for this tour. The area became a popular summer resort with the construction of the Grand Hotel in 1847. This tour welcomes you to a private antebellum home and includes a luncheon and a tour of the Village of Fairhope and other highlights along the Eastern Shore.
