Xeroderma Pigmentosum Zimbabwe identifies XP patients,offers psycho social support,protective clothing,sunscreens,medical support and raising awareness of the disease.
In Zimbabwe most XP patients are found in the remote areas of the country. Their families are so poor and can not afford even one bottle of sunscreen. Late alone having two or more children with this condition is a nightmare for these families. On average an XP patient needs 6-8 200ml bottles of sunscreen a month. Since most are of school going age they need to apply sunscreen every two hours.
