Sex Offending Arson Programmes
Group therapies will be considered based on need and suitability.
Your psychology team also undertake indirect work with your support staff, including regular consultation and support to reinforce your therapy sessions.
Approaching discharge, your psychological work will focus on transition planning.
PSYCHOLOGY AT HEATHERWOOD
Psychology at Heatherwood Court offers all patients a comprehensive psychological assessment with a view to creating treatment plans and recommendations.
This assessment will be shared with the patient and MDT to create shared understanding and inform care plans.
All assessments and interventions are person-centred and individualised based on need.

What will happen??
The psychologist (and possibly the assistant psychologist) will meet with you to develop a therapeutic rapport.
They will explain the assessment process and over the next 3-4 weeks you will have a comprehensive clinical interview.
Further information will be obtained from reports, correspondence with family (if possible) and ward staff observations.
After the assessment
Initially low-level interventions will be offered in order to achieve stabilisation before any indepth psychological therapy.
If you don’t engage in therapy… we will offer a package of ‘Readiness to Change’… to assess your readiness and consider your goals which then may act as motivation to engage.
