WFHS 2010-2011

West Feliciana High School’s Ninth Grade Orientation will be held Monday, August 9, from 4-5 p.m. in the school auditorium. All ninth graders and their parents/guardians are encouraged to attend to receive information about the upcoming year. One of the topics will be the new one-to-one laptop computer program that will be implemented this year for the freshman class. On another note, senior pictures will be taken in the high school gym from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, August 9, for the girls and Tuesday, August 10, for the boys. Seniors will be receiving more detailed information about this in the near future. On these two days seniors may see Mrs. Trish Robinson, 11th and 12th grade counselor, to review schedules. Graduation is Friday, May 13, 2011. Classes for the high school will begin Friday, August 13, with students reporting to homeroom at 7:25 a.m. and dismissal at 2:40 p.m. Buses will run their usual routes and breakfast and lunch will be served. Students are required to wear uniforms and to be in attendance the full day. Proper uniform attire includes navy or khaki pants or shorts, navy blue or white shirts, and solid white or navy jackets. Cargo pants, logos, or emblems are not allowed. More details may be found on the school website, www.wfpsb.org, which has a document link that includes the parent/student handbook. Information about ninth grade school supplies and English summer reading lists are also on the website. West Feliciana Parish Schools Mandatory Uniform Policy

Shoes * Shoes are required and must be appropriate for school. The shoes must not disrupt or detract from the educational process. Too, students must wear shoes that are appropriate for participation in physical education activities and any other school activity. 5XEEHU ´à LS à RSV¾ VKRZHU VKRHV KRXVH VOLSSHUV DQG EHDFK VKRHV DUH SURKLELWHG Shirts * All shirts must be tucked in as long as students are on campus or any school approved outing. * Color must be solid white or navy. * Style may be polo/golf, turtleneck, or oxford collar shirts (short or long-sleeved style) with no emblem, logo, or decoration (except system approved logo or emblem). * White shirts may be worn with navy or khaki. * Navy tops may not be worn with navy skirts, pants, or shorts. * White undershirts or T-shirts with no writing or transfers may be worn underneath the mandatory dress standard. * No bare midriff, see through, strapless, sleeveless shirts or tank tops may be worn. Bookbags * Rolling bookbags are not allowed. Exceptions * Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts or athletic uniforms may be worn on club/uniform days or special occasions approved by the principal. * Spirit Day shirts may be worn with approved pants/shorts/skirts on designated days set by the principal. * Special “Free Dressâ€? days may be approved by the principal. Students will have the option of “Free Dressâ€? according to the following Free Dress Guidelines or wearing their uniform. East Feliciana Parish Northeast High School School Starts: August 5

Despite current rumors within the parish, EFP School Superintendent Doug Beauchamp wished to assure the parish high and middle school parents that as long as students are wearing Columbia blue and golden yellow, they will be allowed in school. "We want to educate students," Beauchamp said. "Not send them home. Schools begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 3:45 across the parish. The current schedule sees teachers returning to school to prepare their classrooms on Aug. 3. Students begin classes on Aug. 5. For the 2010-2011 school year,

parish school supplies are posted on the school system website at www. efpsb.k12.la.us. School uniform shirts for all of East Feliciana Parish schools excluding Slaughter Elemntary School are Columbia blue, golden yellow, and white. Black shirts are allowable this year only. School uniform bottoms are khaki pants, shorts, or skirts. Slaughter Elementary student uniforms are the same as last year, hunter green or white shirts and khaki bottoms. School uniforms can be found at Williams store and Curry Pharmacy.
