Roamer travel magazine is releasing their first issue on March 1st 2015; it will be available in selected stores such as: Travel Agents, WHSmiths and all major supermarkets. “ Virtual Roamer,” the online edition, will be launched at the same time. The company that produces ‘Roamer,’ supports active charities; they are working closely with WWF, Make a Wish Foundation and RSPB. For every magazine sale the company makes, they donate 20 pence to each charity. In each new edition of the magazine, there will be a page dedicated to the benefits of volunteering in another country. Included in this page, there will be a way to contact Roamer for more information. Roamer magazine provides young adults, students in particular, with an insight into travelling the world. As it is aimed at students, Roamer encourages people of this age to contact the magazine with their stories, which are then sorted, chosen, edited and published onto the “Been there, Done that” page. See below for an example: “VICTORIA FALLS IS THE PERFECT PLACE FOR ADRENALINE JUNKIES. WHILE I WAS THERE, I FLEW OVER THE FALLS IN A MICRO LIGHT, WENT ON AN ELEPHANT BACK SAFARI, WHITE WATER RAFTING DOWN THE ZAMBEZI, TOOK SOME LIONS AND CHEETAHS FOR A WALK IN THE BUSH AND DID A BUNGEE JUMP INTO THE GUAGE. IT WAS BY FAR THE BEST MONTH I’VE EVER EXPERIENCED.” – Gina Waygood, roamer travel.
Roamer encourages people to send in both sides of the story to enable the readers to see that although going travelling is an incredible experience, it isn’t always sunshine and roses.
