New LS Retail add-on solutions for Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail LS Retail originally developed the LS Retail AX solution that was acquired by Microsoft. Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail was released in August 2010 and is intended to become a major player in the market for retail solutions. For LS Retail it was a logical step to utilize the expertise within the company to develop solutions to enhance the new product and coinciding with the release of Microsoft Dynamic AX for Retail we presented the first two add-on solutions. Three more were released in December 2010. These five add-on solutions plus the expertise within LS Retail’s Consulting Services will give our Partners a strong foundation to pursue the competitive retail market.

LS Retail Inventory Optimiser
The LS Retail Portal provides store managers with a comprehensive set of tools to run their stores efficiently with reduced risk of failures and mistake. With increasing levels of complexity in modern retail, many store managers must deal with an increasing flow of data on which to base their decisions. The quality of the available information and the way it is processed are vital for the decision-making process.
Inventory Optimiser is an Inventory Planning and Optimization solution that minimizes both inventory costs and shortages. It uses data from the existing ERP system to determine forecast values. From these forecast values, the system then dynamically calculates order proposals and safety stock, taking the service level, inventory status, lead times, minimum order quantities and the items replenishment lead time into account.

LS Retail Meal and Recipe Management
LS Retail Staff Commission allows retailers to efficiently manage commission in exactly the way that suits their business best. With this solution it is possible to set up targets for sales personnel in order to drive up sales, create a structure for dividing commission among staff, based on various criteria. The reporting features of the solution give the management and staff a good overview of the status of sales campaigns with regard to commission.
Meal and Recipe Management is designed for the catering business. The solution allows you to create ingredients and build up recipes. You set up menus that are a collection of dishes and are valid on certain weekdays. For each menu, you create day plans where you assign the actual recipes or items to the dishes offered, set the dish prices and plan how many portions you are going to make.
Recipes are a collection of ingredients and/or other recipes and additional items with quantities that make up one portion. With LS Retail Meal and Recipe Management you can effectively manage your catering business. For example you can: • Use grouping by main ingredient, style and category • Register production time and cooking instructions • Register the quantities of the recipe ingredients for a set number of portions, having the program calculate the quantities for one portion • Store and display nutritional information showing the nutrient values of your choice The solution also allows for easy recipe scaling along with the ability to control and configure nutritional information.
Big Plans for 2011 At LS Retail we are excited to announce the second wave of add-on solutions scheduled for release in 2011. The following new add-on solutions are currently under development: • Staff Management • Fraud Detection • Intelligent Marketing • Forecourt Management • Stock Ledger Reporting Staff Management is a module designed to help automate the staff management process. Retailers are able to improve staff and store productivity by reducing staffing costs through optimized staff rosters. The Fraud Detection module’s foundation is built on a set of triggers that assist organizations in identifying areas where losses are being incurred and ultimately to stop or prevent future occurrences. The Intelligent Marketing module uses advanced data-mining and artificial intelligence technology to precisely target customers according to their purchasing history, demographics or on the content of their shopping basket, to ensure that offers and promotions will be well received. Forecourt Management includes all necessary functionality to operate a typical gas station, including the wet stock management. It can also handle unmanned fuel stations and the POS needs no modification to operate on the three different levels one often encounters at modern service stations: Typical sale of goods, fuel sales and finally hospitality. Stock Ledger Reporting records the retail value of an item, as opposed to the standard system which only keeps track of the cost. It offers complete support for the retail value of an item through different levels of price
