Since 1979, Second Harvest North Florida’s mission has been providing food resources to hungry people. Second Harvest works within a vast network of resources and partners – including food and financial donors, a dedicated staff and volunteers that help manage the work load and agencies that distribute meals to families and individuals in need.

Our large food supply partners include Wal-Mart, Winn-Dixie, Publix, BJs, Sam's Wholesale and Target. We also receive USDA surplus food, in addition to produce from local farms as they become available.

As part of the Feeding America national network of food banks, we offer nonprofits the ability to stretch their dollar and use those resources on other program services.

Adopt a hungry child through our BackPack program for $100 for the entire school year (42 weekends). This provides children living at or below the poverty level with food staples to feed a family of four during the weekend that will help bridge the gap when school nutrition programs are not available. There is currently an unmet need of several thousand children in north Florida. To learn more about the BackPack program, visit wenourishhope.org/backpack.
