In February 2008, Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida (LSS) opened a thrift shop to: • Collect household items to help set up new homes for arriving refugees • Provide for the needs of those helped by the agency’s AIDS Care & Education Program • Help diversify Lutheran Social Service’s revenue stream to make up for decreasing government funds

In February 2008, Lutheran Social Services of Northeast Florida (LSS) opened a thrift shop to:

Even as we seek to serve more people through this newest venture, we are building on our past work. In the past, LSS successfully operated as many as three Sharing Place Thrift Shops located on the Westside, in Arlington and in Downtown Jacksonville.

Lutheran Social Services, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations, was formed in 1979 by area Lutheran churches and local business leaders to collectively help fill unmet needs by people living in the community. Motivated and guided by the compassion of Christ, LSS serves and cares for people in need, regardless of their faith background, through five programs:
