Selected Works Bio After the travellings for my bachelor studies in Turkey and Malaysia, and for working later in Spain and back in Georgia i was intrigued both by ubiquity and irregularities of living/built environments. Since then, i have always tried to engage the question of what is my role as an architect in this environment, and how do i proceed in this profession. There are, as practive and knowlege shows, two foremost quality for me to have in this profession: an adequate technical toolset, and a strong and smart employment of scale. So far, synthesis of these two enable me to operate in a changing environment - be it at a specific geographical location or not. Scale and technics are what make architects and urban designers/ planners (and what can make me) adequate mediator between needs and a creative result.
Portfolio Growing indicators of urbanisation eventually influences the profession of architecture. Projects shown in this portfolio represent deliberations in urban forms and contexts. Though at the same time they intend to be the framework for the architecture’s desired level of individuality, rightfulness, durability, safety, beauty, practicality, etc. Perhaps the change of the scale of projects, that i developed since i started practice in an office, into the bigger design approach is a way to look back at architecture and continue making it in a much more aware position.

As there is an increasing demand on the land ownership in the empty regions of resorts, there has to be a certain form of a framework that calibrates economic needs according to functionality, equitability, safety, and a bit of beauty. Such is the intention of this framework/masterplan to clearly demostrate ownership potential of this certain district.

This project is a clear demonstration of how a land of about 50 000 square meter can be exploited in an orderly manner even if it requires to employ the highest possible percentage of GFA. Mixed-use and residential functions distance and from each other, and both from public borderlines to generate adequate surrounding free space. This aspect gives possibility for a balance between the high qualities of living and working environments.

Masterplan
05 Urban research for shopping mall in Kutaisi
Prior to the preparation Land Use MasterPlan there is always a need for a comprehensive urban research. This includes a number of input layers informing about structural and functional zoning, infrastructural or street network. Main task after this analysis is to synthesize about the possibilities for the project to be realized in these conditions. It is necessary to state even if everything fits into each other. Interesting implication is that the commissioned project’s feasibility often coincides with the analyzed urban formation. It definitely speaks about the intertwined relationship between the commissioners need and possibilities created by the urban status quo.

Sometimes when single buildable entity does not comply with the existing regulation, partial/ patch change of the latter is required. But this change further requires stronger argument for that action, which is translated into a bigger scale of urban intervention. This project is an example of a wider vision proposal for the sake of changing pattern of landuse and its development.
