Come on, Come all. Lübeck and Travemünde

Come on, come all LÜBECK AND TRAVEMÜNDE. A DECLARATION OF LOVE.

Truly unique

“It is the sea gulls‘ shouting in the wide Nordic sky, the warm shining-green copper of the spires, the ancient cobbles’ shimmering gold in the midday sun. It’s the seven spires of the churches rising up high above the town like the masts of a huge sailing vessel and casting a reflection in the water.” Thomas Radbruch (passionate photographer from Lübeck)

Queen of the Hanseatic League

Awarded and queenly! The queen of all queens. Since 1987 Lübeck’s Old Town has been a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. An Old Town which is shaped like an island, surrounded by water with numerous historic and cultural sights – enjoy history in Lübeck with all your senses. Lübeck was named queen during the glorious times of the Hanseatic League when the typical Hanseatic merchants’ houses, the world-famous Holsten Gate and the seven magnificent Old Town church towers were built.

Hidden paradises

Lübeck’s beauty is hidden: Get away from the bustle and discover the quiet and enchanted world of the alleyways and courtyards. Lübeck is a piece of home for all of us.

Culture at any time Three unequaled Nobel laureates and 13 exclusive museums,

which offer unique treasures hidden behind old and new walls. Go on a travel through 800 years of thrilling Hanseatic history in the European Hansemuseum or experience unique cultural moments in the other exciting musuems. Culture simply belongs to LĂźbeck.

The curtain is rising! Fancy an entertaining evening at the theatre? Drama, opera or musical –

Lübeck offers something for every taste! Incredibly versatile, always fun and never boring. Especially worthwhile: the award-winning Theater Lübeck with more than 20 premieres per season.

Shopping the ordinary and the unusual

An extraordinary shopping spree in the splendid UNESCO Word Heritage Site. In LĂźbeck you can have both in immediate vicinity: the lively pedestrian area with well-known brands, but also many family-run shops in the small alleyways. These passageways with cafĂŠs and galleries are definitely worth a visit.

Lübeck‘s sweetest temptation

“I can resist everything except temptation“. An homage to Oscar Wilde, because the best part of Lübeck’s restaurant scene is its diverse choices providing a vast range of tastes and cuisines, of regional food or refined haute cuisine. Crave sweets for dessert? At the café Niederegger you will find the sweetest temptation – the original marzipan made in Lübeck.

Lübeck’s most beautiful daughter

Huge vessels and sailing ships, fine sandy beaches and a fresh sea breeze – this is our seaside resort Travemünde with its maritime landmark the four-masted barque Passat. And the best: it is just a 20-minute drive from the Old Town of Lübeck to the beach in Travemünde. Have a refreshing swim in the Baltic Sea, watch the ferries, enjoy freshly caught fish in one of the restaurants directly at the promenade or admire pure nature on the Steep Coast of Brodten.

You’ve got to party when you can Lübeck and Travemünde are in season all-year-round: people love art

and music, culture and good food. It is all about taking the seasons as they come and using the Old Town and the Baltic Sea as a stage with much love for the details.

Christmas city of the North

LĂźbeck is the place where Father Christmas spends his holidays. The UNESCO World Heritage Site with the world-renowned Christmas and craft markets is particularly amazing during the Christmas season: bright lights, the scent of roasted almonds, hot mulled wine and lovingly made presents for the loved ones turn the city into a wonderful Christmas dream.

Meeting by the sea

The conference venues with that certain je ne sais quoi: Going to the sea directly after the conference and filling up your energy reserves with the fresh sea breeze. Or enjoying a workshop by the sea? LĂźbeck and TravemĂźnde make it possible! You are more than welcome! www.luebeckongress.de
