isolation. 8 months abroad at New Zealand was nothing but serene. I learnt how to find peace in solitary, to appreciate time to myself. Life was seemingly slower and quieter as i travelled from north to south. All of the film images in this series capture the isolated feeling that i’ve experienced to a personal level, hence the title - isolation. I hope you like it as much as i’ve loved making it.

during my stay abroad, time was all i had. i could spend it any way i wish but most of the time i find myself lost in my own thoughts. it didn’t bother me much though. after all, what is lost will eventually be found. it’s only a matter of time.
endless - the very first word that popped up in my mind when i was taking this picture. it’s hard to believe that places like this actually exist in real-life, but they do. nature is hella unreal, especially to a city boy like me.
being alone is not the same thing as being lonely. i’ve often wondered why do people confuse the two all the time. we humans are social beings but we often neglect time & space for ourselves. self-care is not selfish, don’t ever forget that.
patience is a virtue, patience is a curse. for the longest time, this phrase resonated deeply within me. i’ve come to learn that any trait can be a double edged sword. it’s all a matter of perception.
never in my wildest dreams did i think that someday i’d be walking on a glacier for 3 hours. it was a quiet landscape where natural silence would go for miles and miles. the perfect place to let your mind go blank.
there’s no time like the present. go do what feels right while you can. don’t let regrets haunt you.
leaving New Zealand felt odd. after months of solitude i wasn’t ready to return to the chaotic yet familiar city. alas, reality awaits back home.
the end.
thank you for reading. until next time. :^)
