PARKS: The Wichita park system is composed of 126 parks spanning over 5,000 acres Includes eight community recreation centers, eight swimming pools and 53 athletic fields All parks are closed between 12 midnight and 6:00 am unless otherwise posted.

BICYCLING The City of Wichita maintains more than 100 miles of bicycle paths, lanes and other bicycle facilities.

QUICK TIPS: You are allowed to ride your bicycle on the sidewalks, except in the Central Business District.

There is no helmet ordinance. You can ride your bicycle on the streets, and you have the same rights and duties as a person driving a motor vehicle.

The City does not require a bicycle license.

Every bicycle ridden at nighttime must be equipped with a white light on the front and a red reflector on the back, both of which must be able to be seen from 500 feet.

SCOOTERS Wichita is home to several electronic scooters, which is a fantastic way to explore your new city, especially the downtown area. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the rules. Here are a few: ▸ Cannot operate on a sidewalk ▸ Can ride on the bike paths ▸ Can only operate until 9pm ▸ No helmet, insurance or driver’s license or registration required ▸ No more than one person on the scooter at a time ▸ Riders must be 18 years of age or older

The Q Line is a free trolly service that serves Delano, Old Town, Douglas Design District and Clifton Square. It spans 3.3 miles on Douglas Avenue from Seneca Street to Clifton Avenue and trolleys run approximately every 15 minutes.

DISC GOLF

In Wichita, you can find five disc golf courses that are free and available to the public: Cessna West ▸ 5701 E. Kinkaid Clapp Park ▸ 4611 E. Harry Herman Hill ▸ 101 E. Pawnee Oak Park ▸ 1355 N. Oak Park Dr. West Millbrook ▸ 119th St. W. and Taft

SKATE PARKS: Orchard Skate Park

Ryan Woodward Memorial Skatepark 5815 E. Ninth Designed for beginner to intermediate

Wichita Skate Park 645 S. St. Francis Designed by California Skateparks, it has been described as a “destination” by skateboarders.
