CHRIS GREENE Being There When It Really Counts
18 • November 2023
@realproducers
One of the most valuable assets that anyone can bring to a situation is showing up, being present and staying engaged in finding solutions. That’s a drive that Chris Greene brings to his work each day. As a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Signature Partners, Chris dedicates himself fully to reaching the client’s goals.
the idea of stepping into the self-employed world,” Chris remembers. “I was ready for a change and eventually made the decision to get my license in October 2015. It was the push I needed. I liked the flexibility of it coming from an office job, and still being able to assist people with their goals and dreams.” BUILDING THROUGH TIME
“When I think about my favorite parts of what I do, I love finding properties for my clients and working with investors,” Chris says. “I love the flexibility to be there for my family and to be there for my clients.” GROWING WITH STRONG LOCAL ROOTS
Chris was born and raised in Wichita and went on to attend college at Wichita State University after his high school career was complete. By the time he graduated in 2007, Chris earned his degree in Criminal Justice and General Studies. He also competed at a high level on the university bowling team that won the national championship during his freshman year. After graduation, Chris pursued a pro bowling career for a time. “However, I quickly realized that that wasn’t the life for me and I wasn’t at that level,” he remembers. “From there, I went into banking for eight years.” TAKING THE NEXT STEP
Before Chris began his real estate adventure, he helped clients in his role at Wichita Federal Credit Union. After starting as a Loan Clerk, he moved up to become a Loan Specialist. While he enjoyed his job at the credit union, real estate always was on his mind.
To start, Chris hung his license with Integra (now Abode Real Estate) with Brokers Steve and Jamie Doty. “I was on the Feuerborn Team to start, who have now opened their own brokerage, ICT Realty Group. They were all instrumental in showing me the ropes of real estate and helping me learn and navigate the process,” Chris recalls. “I was with Integra until October 2018, when I transitioned over to Keller Williams, thanks in large part to Laura Wasinger and Trenty Barney. I am an independent agent and enjoy working with both buyers and sellers, as well as investors.” A BLOSSOMING CAREER
As Chris remembers it, his start in the business was a bit slow to begin with. His first listing came during his second month in real estate when he and his family moved his grandmother into assisted living.
“I had friends in the business. I had thought about getting into the industry myself, but it had always been a little daunting for me to think about

“It was interesting seeing the process. My grandparents had originally bought the property when my father was 3 years old as the youngest child,” Chris notes. “It was rewarding how their house was purchased by a family who also had three children with the youngest being 3 years old, as well.” Chris spared little time hitting the ground running. In fact, he recorded $2 million in sales volume during his first year in 2016. In the process, he credited the sphere of influence he had built through time. Chris continued building through time. In fact, in 2022, he amassed $13 million in sales volume, representing 44 transactions. In the process, he has accounted for over $50 million in career sales volume. GRATITUDE
Along the way, Chris has remained truly grateful to his clients and those around him who have trusted him to help them in their times of need. “A big part of my success has been my support system,” Chris says. “And that begins with my family. My wife, Liz, has been very understanding and supportive of my career through time.” 20 • November 2023
Chris treasures time with Liz and their children — 13-year-old, Leyton; and 12-year-old, Ella. Some of their favorite activities include supporting their children in their school events. They also like to travel whenever they can, with favorite destinations including Disney World and Mexico. Chris also enjoys movies and supporting the Kansas City Chiefs. They also like hanging out with their pets — 3-yearold, Belle, a mini-labradoodle; and 2-year-old, Leo, a mini-goldendoodle. When it comes to giving back, Chris also likes to support the Wichita River Festival and he has been on the Finance Committee for several years, an event that his family has been involved with for over 35 years.
@realproducers
Those who have the chance to get to know Chris appreciate the way he puts his loyal and trustworthy nature to work for those around him. As he says, “That’s the biggest thing for me in what I do. I always want to make sure that I’m doing the right thing by those I serve.”
I LOVE THE FLEXIBILITY TO BE THERE FOR MY FAMILY AND TO BE THERE FOR MY CLIENTS.
Chris smiles as he looks to the future and continues the role that means so much to him. “I love helping people achieve their dreams and goals, whether it be their forever home, dream home, or first-time home purchase,” he says. “Integrity, doing the right thing even when no one is watching means everything to me.” Congratulations to Chris Greene for providing a powerful example of what it means when you’re there to help others when it matters the most.

When you’re in the middle of
On The Front Lines
a crucial test or struggle, you remember who’s on your side … the people who stick with you and have your back.
24 • November 2023
@realproducers
Your clients rely on you to be in the thick of it with them. They know that no matter what they face, they can count on your counsel and cool decision-making ability.
While Ali had served in the military, she had worked as a Paralegal. After honorably completing her service to her country, she continued in that line of work for a time.
That’s the same sense of service that Ali Schneider brings to everything she does day by day.
In the meantime, Ali and Austin started their family, which caused Ali to re-evaluate her direction a bit.
As a REALTOR® with Keller Williams Signature Partners, Ali is there on the front lines supporting those around her, including the nation’s military veterans. “I’m very military-heavy with what I do. I really like being able to take the stress off military families who are relocating,” Ali says. “They’ve done so much and have sacrificed for the rest of us.” Sharing Her Commitment
A big part of Ali’s commitment to those who serve has come from firsthand experience. After growing up in Kansas City, she enlisted in the U.S. Army. In time, as part of her service, she moved to Wichita. That’s where she met her husband, Austin.
realproducersmag.com
“I felt like I was missing a lot of my daughter’s life,” Ali remembers. “My husband owns Schneider Construction, and we felt that a move into real estate would be best for our schedule.” Making Forward Progress
Like most who enter the field, Ali found that going into real estate was challenging to start. “I began as a solo agent and wasn’t having any luck. Real estate hadn’t been on my career radar. But I got my license in February 2022, and I joined a high-producing team for six months and I learned a lot about the business. After that, I made the decision to go back out as a solo agent.”
Wichita Real Producers • 25
A big part of the personal connection that Ali enjoys with her clients today was shaped by her experiences growing up. “When I grew up, I moved every single summer. My mom got bored in the houses we were in. So we moved a lot,” Ali says. “And, in the process, we had a different REALTOR® that we worked with every time. That really taught me about the importance of building close, ongoing relationships with clients.” Ali has continued to grow based on those close bonds that she’s built. In 2022, she recorded $3.5 million in sales volume, representing 20 transactions. Wonderful Life
Family time is a truly rewarding time for Ali. She loves sharing her life with Austin, and their children — their 2-year-old daughter, Scarlett; and their baby son in heaven, Noah. In their free time, Ali and her family look forward to time spent together outside. Another favorite pursuit for them is traveling together and enjoying new experiences.
When it comes to giving back, a natural extension for Ali is getting involved with organizations that serve those who have served. One group that Ali is especially involved with is Mission 22, an organization that raises awareness of suicides among members of the military community. She also has been very thankful for her experience with Take Heart, a bereaved mothers community that she is part of through her church. As Ali thinks about the future, she also offers helpful advice for others who are getting into real estate, as well. “One of the steps that new agents can take that is really helpful is starting off on a team,” she says. “The experience of getting into the business can be scary. But a team can really help you learn and get a good start.” Making the Most of Each Opportunity
She also thinks back to her own experience as she advises people to stay open to new possibilities. “It’s okay to change your original plan. Real estate was not in my original plan. In the beginning, I had planned on going into criminal justice,” Ali says. “But I’m thankful that things have worked out the way that they have.” Talking with Ali, you can immediately see the qualities of helpfulness and trustworthiness that she shares with the world around her. “I always keep in mind the importance of being happy and helpful,” Ali says. “I want to bring others happiness and help them with whatever they need in life.”

Dr. Janeka
Jones
Coming Through with the Answers In a business like this, your clients naturally have no shortage of questions as they try to traverse their way across the shifting landscape that stands between where they are and their goals. Luckily, they have you to support their needs. As this month’s Rising Star, Dr. Janeka Jones prizes being able to fulfill that role for her clients, as well. As a Broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Penfed Realty, Janeka comes through with the answers for those around her. “One of the biggest parts that I love about real estate is teaching. I love being that face and voice to help people who also want to come into this career path. I teach pre-licensing,” Janeka says.
A Time of Challenges — and Clarity
As the world endured the COVID-19 pandemic and its disruptive ripples, Janeka says she had a good conversation with herself about which direction she wanted to head in life. “Before COVID, I had been in the Air Force on active duty and stationed all over the world, but most of my career was spent in Europe. I also achieved the rank of commissioned officer as well. Real estate sounded like fun at the time to me. I pursued it a bit, but I don’t feel like it was the right time,” Janeka remembers. “Fast forward to the pandemic, I was working for the government but wasn’t really happy. The idea came to me about real estate again, and I decided to go full ahead.”
“It means a lot to me to be able to share my knowledge with those who are searching for their first home and for others who are attempting to sell the home that they have been in for many years. Being able to answer my clients’ and customers’ questions is a rewarding feeling.

Working Her Way Forward
As Janeka thinks back on her transition into the business, she remembers her learning curve. “The curve for me was not only the fact that I was in a state where I didn’t know anyone, but I realized I needed to start networking and getting out meeting and talking with people.” Soon, Janeka was grateful to have the opportunity to start teaching real estate. She was a perfect fit for the role, having earned her PhD, and having had experience as a Professor. In time, she continued networking and her real estate career took off. “That’s when the world of real estate opened up and welcomed me in,” Janeka remembers with a smile. Today, Janeka holds a real estate license in three states — Kansas, Oklahoma and Virginia.
I want to start educating people of color about the importance of real estate and how to protect it through a will or trust and teaching them about equity.
Family Foundation
Bolstering her continued growth through time is Janeka’s family. “I have so much appreciation for the support that I have received from my family and friends through this whole process,” she emphasizes.
32 • November 2023
@realproducers
In her free time, Janeka has a passion for watching HGTV. “After watching three episodes, I feel like I could go out and build a house,” she smiles. “And I love doing that. Now that I have my first investment property, I’m doing some of the rehabbing myself. And I would like to keep doing that in the future.” Janeka is fully engaged in helping those around her in the community, as well. She is in the process of starting the local NAREB (National Association of Real Estate Brokers) association. She is a member of the Oklahoma chapter and was approached with the idea of founding a chapter in Wichita.
“I’ve had a lot of people say, ‘You must love school.’ But growing up I was not a straight-A student. I didn’t like school at all,” she smiles. “But the military showed me the value. In the Air Force, they push people toward getting an education. I finished every degree while serving on active duty and I am working on my paralegal degree, as well.” With a relentless thirst for knowledge and helping those around her reach their dreams, Dr. Janeka Jones demonstrates the skills and abilities that make her a true Rising Star and a guiding light for those around her.
“I’m doing that in my free time,” she says. “I want to start educating people of color about the importance of real estate and how to protect it through a will or trust and teaching them about equity.” Passion for People
When you talk with Janeka, it’s easy to see the passion she has … not only for the profession but for the people she comes in contact with and serves along the way. “My greatest hope is that the people I serve will think of me as someone they can come to if they have questions about real estate … but also to sit and talk about life, family, and kids. I want to be a confidante or sounding board.” With all that Janeka has achieved through her life and career, she often has people who comment about her education level and the passion that must have allowed her to build her achievements.

LIFETIME INSTALLATION WARRANTY ON ALL WOOD, TILE & CARPET "I highly recommend Ben Henwood at Designer’s Home Gallery. I first used them in a client's home that needed the entire home recarpeted prior to listing it for sale. I always shop around to get my clients the BEST deal and was shocked that Ben could get me the same prices that the factory outlets could, and the quality of the carpet was better. He came to me with the samples, they did the install, and got me the invoice promptly (which is so important to REALTORS®). They really made the whole process so much easier than ANY other company I had ever used prior. I have been using Designer’s Home Gallery ever since. I don’t have to shop around; he knows what I like, and he gets the job done smoothly. For the REALTORS®, Ben understands the “Allowance” process, they offer a REALTOR® rate, and he knows how to keep your clients happy! If you want to impress your clients, send Ben with Designer’s Home Gallery!”

Handling the A-to-Z Details of Getting from Here to There
Anyone who has been through a move can relate to the fact that the unexpected can happen at any point. That’s why it means so much to have a partner on your side to get your clients to the next milestone in their lives with a minimum of stress and a maximum of care. That’s where Two Men and a Truck excels with a tradition of excellence in moving that helps clients make their moves in life from coast to coast. A WORLD OF OPTIONS
Renee Carrion is Director of Community Engagement with Two Men and a Truck. As she says, “We are equipped to handle all local and long distance moving needs no matter the size of

a home or business. A lot of people don’t realize that we do long-distance moves. We are a full-service moving company that offers comprehensive home and business relocation, as well as packing and unpacking.” That same sense of care can also be called upon for “micro-moves.” “We’re here to help people who need temporary moves on their property,” Renee says. “For example, sometimes people are buying new carpet and need their heavy furniture and items moved. In those cases, we can come and move items and then come back after the work in the house is done.” “We also move pianos and gun safes,” she says. “We are very well known for those types of moves, as well as moving furniture from upstairs to downstairs.”

Two Men and a Truck also offers a REALTOR® Referral Program. With the program, clients receive a $50 Visa Gift Card which is given to them by their REALTOR® that gives them a $50 savings when they hire Two Men and a Truck to conduct their move. DYNAMIC TEAMWORK
Two Men and a Truck boasts a dynamic team of 46 with multiple moving crews and a powerful fleet of 18 trucks. “We have great teamwork, we collaborate well and have a great flow. Because of our systems, we are the only company in town that offers moving consultants,” she says. One of Renee’s favorite parts of her work is having the chance to get out and about. I like to meet and connect with people and build sustainable relationships. In the process, she was selected for Leadership Wichita through the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce. “I like getting to know people of all types of backgrounds. I like to see how we can help each other,” she says. As part of that spirit of engagement, Renee serves on a number of boards throughout the community, including Wichita’s Diversity, Inclusion and Civil Rights Board, as well as the Via Christi Foundation Board, a private, non-profit corporate that exists to serve the Ascension Via Christi Mission of providing healthcare to all, especially to the poor and underserved. “I am very honored that they chose me to serve on their board,” she says. FAMILY HIGHLIGHTS
Renee treasures time spent with her family, including her children — her daughter, Raquel, who is a single mom of four; her son, Roman; and her daughter, Lina. In her free time, Renee enjoys volunteering with several non-profits, going to the zoo and enjoying time with her grandchildren.

GRATITUDE
Renee is quick to share her appreciation for being part of a worldclass organization like Two Men and a Truck. “Moving is a tough job. It is very fulfilling to be part of a great company like this,” she says. “I can’t thank our President, Garret Peterman, enough for his caring and compassionate leadership, and for creating a quality environment that we have.”
WE HAVE GREAT TEAMWORK, WE COLLABORATE WELL AND HAVE A GREAT FLOW. Last year, Renee needed to undergo a six-hour back surgery. While she is recovering, it has been a challenging experience. “This has been a very humbling experience for me during this time of healing. I am a very active person who is used to being on the go. But with COVID-19, my daughter’s heart attack and with my back surgery, I know now in the blink of an eye that life can change. Count your blessings, forgive often and love with all your heart,” she says. “The people around me have been wonderful. Our work family here is tremendous. When we achieve our individual and team goals, we all win. It takes all of us to make this work.” Those who have had a chance to use the services provided by Two Men and a Truck appreciate the true value and attention they receive. “We’re grateful when we receive feedback that says we are an excellent moving company that really cares and loves to give back to the community,” Renee explains.

“We really do care about our clients. We give back to the community. We strive to exceed their expectations. We try to truly satisfy them to go above and beyond. As part of that, we also donate a certain number of moves for various local charities each year. We embrace and follow the Grandma Rule®’ here … “to treat everyone the way we would want your grandma to be treated.”

EXPANDING WHAT’S POSSIBLE
Shelley Farley One person who is motivated to make an impact on the community can make a remarkable difference. But that’s just the start. When that person is joined by other, like-minded professionals, the effect can be multiplied in powerful ways. That’s the way it has been for Shelley Farley. As Team Leader of Shelley Farley and Associates with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Penfed Realty, Shelley has dedicated herself to helping others and helping them expand what’s possible in their lives.

“I love seeing the agents grow and helping them. One of the ladies on my team had started with zero experience in real estate. She was going through a tough personal time and asked me about getting into the business. I said, ‘Absolutely, I will take you on,’” Shelley says. “Today, she has made President’s Club. Looking back, there were many nights when we sat at my table and filled out contracts. Being able to see her fly is very rewarding for me.” Step by Step to Success
That kind of rise and growth is reminiscent of Shelley’s own @realproducers
rise through time, even though she had been around the business from an early age … starting part-time as a bank teller each day after her high school classes were done. In time, Shelley worked her way up to become Branch Manager, and then she went on to work in mortgage lending. In fact, she even took a leap of faith and started her own mortgage brokerage— Alliance Financial Group. “I did that for several years until my mom got sick around 2005. I sold my business and spent time with family,” Shelley says. “After that, my husband and I had our daughter and I stayed home with her for a couple years.” Eventually, Shelley felt it was time to move into real estate. She had earned her license in 2014, started selling in 2018, and then started her own team in 2019. “I think my background in the mortgage industry helped me a lot in me finding success in the realproducersmag.com
business, because I already knew a lot about it,” Shelley remembers. “I started my team and brought them on and started supplying them with knowledge and leads. It started with three of us and then grew.” Strength in Teamwork
Today, Shelley is proud to be joined on her team by Nancy Hill, Helen Brown and Trisha Hawes. “I structured my team a little differently. I don’t take credit for any of their sales. My numbers are mine. I did that because they work just as hard as I do, and I also want that to be a motivation for them and I want them to get credit,” Shelley emphasizes. “We are very helpful … picking up transactions to do a showing or go do a closing. When women support other women, amazing things happen.” Shelley has continued leading by example. In fact, she has recorded over $19 million in sales volume since 2018, including over $5 million in sales volume in 2022. Wichita Real Producers • 43

husband this would break me or make me,” Shelley says. “I took three weeks off and then I used Jake as motivation and knew he would want me to do this.” Purpose in Action
Shelley reflects a combination of pride mixed with the pain of losing Jake when he was just 26 years old. “He had left on a Friday to Missouri for a float trip. There was a lowhead dam where they were at. There was a girl from Kansas that had gone over the dam. At the base of the low-head dam, there is a hydraulic current. And when you get caught in that, it’s almost impossible to get out,” Shelley says. “The girl was stuck in that current, so Jake dove in to help her. In the process, he was able to keep her afloat for a remarkable span of 30 minutes. Others were able to get her out, but Jake wasn’t able to escape.” In the aftermath, Shelley faced a difficult crossroads. “I told my 44 • November 2023
A big part of Shelley’s purpose has been protecting others from the dangers of low-head dams. In fact, after significant research, advocacy and resilience, there are plans in action to remove that low-head dam. In her free time, Shelley enjoys spending time with their five grandchildren and traveling—taking two or three vacations a year. One of her favorite destinations is Honduras. She also likes raising chickens. “During the pandemic, my husband built me a chicken coop. Today, I have 14 chickens,” she smiles. “I raise them from hatch and I train them. They all have a name, sit and come when they are called. They are truly pets. They bring me so much joy. Some people know me as the crazy chicken lady.”
She also likes to stay engaged by volunteering for Numana, Inc. and Make-a-Wish. In fact, she started volunteering for Make-a-Wish when she was in the 7th grade, when she served as a ball girl during a tournament. She also is engaged with Heartland Girl Scouts. She and her family also look forward to the holidays when they adopt an under-privileged family. Those who know Shelley appreciate the way she honors the relationships that she builds with each of her clients and colleagues. “I truly believe that real estate is about building relationships, trust and always doing the right things for your clients,” Shelley says. “About 97 percent of my business comes from referrals and past clients.” Those who have turned to Shelley Farley for support and guidance in life and real estate realize they have a friend … someone who is dedicated to helping them expand what’s possible.
